    Beauty: New Brands At Boots

Boots is a brand that every girl in the UK has grown up with. We went in there to buy our Miss Sporty Clear Mascara and our bright coloured Collection 2000 eyeshadows when we were younger. I have always loved Boots and I think everyone can relate to this, do you go into to Boots with the intention of buying just some shampoo and face wipes and come out with body wash, a new miccellar water, mascara, make-up the lot?! Well be prepared to go into Boots and to come out with these beauties...

    EOS Lip Balms (£6.50)

A blogger favourite in the US, EOS arrived in the UK but they have never been easily available. Boots are now stocking all six scents in-store and online. I've already used this lip balm and I really like it, I leave my lips feeling hydrated but I also love the blueberry scent!

Wet Brush Detangling Brush - (£11.99)

The Wet Brush, I think is an amazing concept. I hate how your hair gets so tangled in the shower and I've tried the Tangle Teezer and it just doesn't work for me. This brush has become a must-have in my daily routine and I absolutely love it. I think it's great for curly haired girls (like me) or just any girl who suffers from serious tangled hair!

    Hairburst Hair Supplements - (£25)

I've seen Hairburst being endorsed everywhere on Instagram and Twitter. I've been intrigued by this brand for a while as someone who suffers from hair loss, I'm excited to give this a go.

Billion Dollar Brows Eyebrow Pencil - (£17)

If you're into old-school brow products then this brow pencil is for you. I like using this product to out-line my brows but also when I want to go for a more 'natural' look I like the layer with the pencil to add intensity to my brows. All I use on top of this is a clear brow gel.

    Mr.Blanc Teeth Whitening Strips - (£25)

Teeth whitening products seem to be all the rage at the moment. I've seen so many celebrities endorse Mr Blanc or Twitter and Instagram so I've always been unsure to whether they actually work. I'll report back on this one!

    WunderBrow 1-Step Brow Gel In Black/Brown - (£19.95)
This is my favourite product out of the bunch. I love my brows and keeping them thick and shaped well. I normally use a pencil and a bit of clear brow gel for my eyebrows but this product by Wunderbrow has completely changed my mind. When I'm feeling lazy (as your brows stay put using this product for a good day or 2) I have been loving using this. I use the gel on the outline of my brows and then brush them through with the spoolie. This works so well on my brows as they're dark and thick and I would highly recommend this.
Have you tried out any of these products? Any new launches you would recommend me trying out?

Beauty: Discovering Zoeva & Beauty Bay Haul

Zoeva Bon Voyage Brush Set, Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette, Art Deco Couture Nail Polish *

I've heard a lot about Beauty Bay but I've never actually made a purchase from the site. I've been so into beauty lately (as you've probably noticed from my posts) and the Beauty Bay site is literally make-up heaven!

If you haven't heard of Beauty Bay before they're an online store which stocks premium and unique UK and International beauty brands. They introduce brands on the site due to customer demands so online you'll find brands such as Stila, Pixi, Zoeva and more.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette - £15.50

I have always wondered where bloggers pick up Zoeva products. I have never seen them in a store in the UK so I hadn't looked further into the brand despite how hyped up the brushes and eyeshadow palettes from the brand are. I love the Zoeva Rose Gold Brush Set as it's rose gold and the brushes look absolutely gorgeous and I've heard so much about the eyeshadow palettes and they are only £15 too (bargain!). I first heard about this palette in a Lily Pebbles blog post and I absolutely loved the colours so I was ecstatic when I found out I could get my hands on the palette from Beauty Bay!

My favourite shades in this palette are Subtle Blend, Warm Notes and Sweeter End. The palette has a few great nude shades and a few darker shades which make this palette very adaptable from day to night. What's also great about this palette is that it's very compact so It won't take up a lot of space in your handbag or make-up bag too.

Art Deco Couture Nail Polish - £5.25

I was browsing the sale section on the website when I came across this polish. I just fell in LOVE with the colour. I love how it's great for Autumn/Winter and how well this nail polish shade goes with my skin tone. I love how this polish gave my nails are a real 'gel' look effect too.

Zoeva Cream Cheek Blush Brush from the Bon Voyage Brush Set - £30.95

This brush is designed to apply cream and powder blusher. As time has gone on and my love for make-up has grown, I've begun to like blusher. I thought It would be a product I would never really use but after recently discovering the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Compact I'm a changed woman.

Zoeva Stippling Brush from the Bon Voyage Brush Set - £30.95

I've used this brush a few times since having it and I'm not 100% sure on this one. I think for the make-up looks I like to create this brush isn't quite for me (but I could still grow to love it) I like using denser brushes to apply my foundation with but I think this would work well for people which apply light coverage foundations or prefer a very natural make-up look.

Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease Brush from the Bon Voyage Brush Set - £30.95

This brush has become a real favourite in my everyday make-up routine. This brush is designed as a multi-task eyeshadow brush, It's great for blending eyeshadow shades in the crease of the eye. It's great for creating perfected eye looks and great for eye contouring. I like using this brush to create nude eye for an everyday make-up look.

Zoeva Detail Shader Brush from the Bon Voyage Brush Set - £30.95

What I love using this brush for is to add eyeliner to my eye make-up looks but with a dark eyeshadow shade. I find that this brush works perfectly for the application and the size of the brush is ideal!

What do you think of Beauty Bay? Have you tried any Zoeva products? Are there any Zoeva products you would recommend giving a go?

Lifestyle: New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward on Nintendo 3DS

I'm bringing you all a slightly different sort of review today, It comes in the form of a game review and I have to say part of me was super excited when the email about it dropped in my inbox as I've been really into games at the moment as with writing my dissertation a girl needs her switching off time and taking a break!

I've been one of those people who always plays games using applications on my phone so I was delighted to be able to try out the New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward (which is exclusively available on Nintendo 3Ds).

The concept of the game is that it gives you the opportunity to run your own boutique. I wouldn't have looked at Nintendo when it comes to Fashion games but I've been playing this game for the past few hours (yes I'm hooked) and I'm really liking it.
As you can see from the photo above I even created my own character and weirdly I think it looks (a little) like me. There was plenty of options of what to wear, what to make sure your character looked like right down to your eyebrows! The photo is what my character first looked like I soon managed to change her to wearing a striped top and jeans (my go-to outfit!)

To begin with in the game I was introduced to a woman called Sophie who showed me my own boutique and asked for style advice. The location of the game is a city called Beaumonde City and as the game goes along you unlock different locations. So far I've unlocked Primrose Park and Caprice Chalet, unlocking these locations has helped me generate customers for my Boutique.
When it came to the boutique, a customer will walk in and you have a chat with them and the aim is to obviously make them spend as much money as possible and so once the customer has told me what they're looking for I direct them to the most expensive product!
I actually really love owning my own boutique on the game and it's given me a little more of an insight to what it's like owning your own shop. You are not just the owner on the game but you're the stylist too. You can also style your customers (who come into the shop) with some of the latest trends and make sure they're all styled properly. You can do things on the game such as unlock hair styles, clothes and buy miniature furniture for the dolls house.
To celebrate the launch of New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward you can download a demo version of the game on the Nintendo 3DS E-Shop. You can find out more about the game and watch a trailer for the game here.

This post is sponsored by Nintendo but all thoughts and opinions of this game are my own*

    This Weeks High-Street Picks #63

Sleeveless Faux Shearling Coat - Pretty Little Thing
Dark Purple High Neck Wrap Top - River Island
    Striped Shirt - Ark
Faux Fur Sleeveless Gilet - River Island
Camel Coloured Wool Coat - Missguided

I feel like I've lost my mojo lately when it comes to fashion blogging. I love blogging and have done for 6 years now but at the moment I seem to find myself wearing just jeans and oversized jumpers. With being a third year student at university I seem to find myself researching for my dissertation or just worrying about all the other things I have to do!
On the high-street at the moment I'm loving all things warm. I love how Pretty Little Thing ace it when it comes to coats and jackets every time and they don't break the bank either. I love sleeveless gilets as they keep you so warm and cozy. I love how this one is half price online at River Island and I'm so tempted to snap this one up at the moment! I love how gilets can make any simple outfit look stylish, I love wearing mine with a simple polo neck top and black jeans and boots.
I seem to have an obsession with coats right now, I think the more the coats the better! I think when it comes to coats you can't beat online for price and finding something that little bit different. I love looking online on sites like Missguided, Pretty Little Thing and ASOS.
What's your favourite item in this weeks wishlist? What are you loving on the high-street at the moment?

Lifestyle: 5 Negatives I Feel Towards Blogging

Sometimes I feel like it's okay to write a personal post, to be a bit more 'real' with you guys. Not that I'm not 'real' I just don't like sharing a lot of what goes on in my life. I like sharing with you all the happy things, the fashion items and beauty items i'm loving, the positives from lessons I've learnt and the experiences I have thanks to this blog.

At the moment life isn't the easiest of things and so I thought I'd write a little post because it's okay to have those down moments and those down times especially when it comes to blogging.

    1. It's so easy to compare yourself - I technically started my blog when I was 15, I'm now 21. In the past 6 years so much has changed within the blogging world and there's thousands of new blogs popping up online everyday. With the likes of Zoella, Fleur De Force and Tanya Burr who all started blogging around the same time as me I find myself comparing what I've achieved to them. I don't have any books released or make-up lines and I still get excited that sometimes (not all the time) I'm able to earn a little bit of money from something I'd loved doing for so long.

    2. It feels like blogging is all about the numbers/followers - I've got myself down about Instagram for so long (you can follow me here if you'd like) as I don't have tens of thousands of followers like so many other bloggers out there. I love Instagram from the point of view it's a new way of interacting with your followers and taking a closer looks into there lives. I don't like how it's now all about the 'selfies' and wearing the latest fashion item and get hundreds of likes on a photo and how when it comes to working with brands, I've been turned down for things as I don't have the set amount of required followers on Instagram. Whatever happened to producing just good quality content?

    3. A lot of bloggers aren't true to themselves - A lot of bloggers I've met in person aren't the same as they appear to be online. Don't worry there's a lot of bloggers who are so down to earth and lovely and I can call genuine friends but there's been some surprises along the way. It's a shame that there's people out there only 'friends' with a blogger as they're more popular so instead of genuine friendship it's about personal gain.

    4. Taking outfit photos isn't always confidence boosting - I love sharing with you all the outfits i'm loving to wear, what I'm loving on the high-street at the moment but sometimes getting out my tripod and taking some photos makes me feel worse then better. I'm not the thinnest of girls out there but I'm not fat, I'm a size 10/12 and looking back on it, it seems crazy the amount of outfit posts i've discarded as I wasn't happy with them.

    5. Sometimes life just gets in the way - I sometimes get so hung up about constantly having a good amount of people viewing my blog, I feel bad if I don't upload and I'm writing this post right now at ten to midnight. Blogging inspiration comes in spurs and different times of the day and sometimes life just gets to much. Since beginning this blog I've completed my GCSE's, A-Levels, Started a degree in Birmingham, dropped out of university, travelled the world (a bit) and started a different degree at Huddersfield. There's been so many ups and downs but I'm so glad this blog has been there with me every step of the way.
This may seem like a bit of a downer of a post but I wanted to point out that everything isn't rosy when it comes to running a blog.
Let me know if there's things about blogging which get in the way for you, or how you feel the blogging industry has changed the past few years!

    Things I’ve Learnt Living Alone

I’ve lived on my own now for the past three almost four months and I always get so many questions about living on my own and if I like it or if I find it lonely. I thought today I’d share some of my thoughts I've had since I've got my own flat.

To be completely honest - Im so happy living alone. I love being on my own anyway, Im one of those people who just prefers to get on with their own stuff than have to wait around for other people. Solo living was something that I knew would always sit well with me because it’s just my kinda vibe. I could lie and pretend that I miss seeing people everyday but I genuinely don’t. Being on my own makes me feel strong, independent and proud that I can afford this flat and all the things inside it all by myself. Im 25 years old and I can say I paid for every single thing inside my flat and I know some bloggers are ashamed of the fact their life is built on money from their blog but Im so proud of the life Im able to build from something I started as a hobby. I’ll never be ashamed of the fact that I earnt all the money for the things in my flat myself because sometimes it amazes me when I look at my beautiful flat and my lovely little car.

I very rarely feel lonely (I don’t know if thats just me, but I don’t!), I have a bunch of awesome friends and family who I feel like I’ve made extra effort with since going solo. I still have a pretty active social life and go out a lot still. I feel like living alone has just made me more inclined to go out there and meet people. I’ve always classed myself as a “terrible friend” as I rarely keep in contact with the people that mean the most to me but I have been reaching out to old friends and getting back in touch with people. I do miss living with my friend Dal though. She moved out of our place a few months before I left so we’d not lived together for a while now. However we still hung out all the time, but now I live in Brighton I see her less so thats kinda weird.

Im much messier than I thought I was, I think because I don’t have so much pressure to tidy up after myself as it’s only me and the Cat here. I don’t really enjoy cleaning that much so I tend to go by this rule “if it takes me less than 5 minutes I’ll do it now, if not I can leave it” It’s helped me keep my place relatively tidy but at the same time I do leave things longer that I should do. I’ve never been a particularly tidy person but I hate a messy kitchen and bathroom and I do think theres a huge line between mess and filth. Filth is a no-go but a little mess never hurt anyone. I try and wipe down my surfaces and load away all my washing every night before bed though but my flat is always messier than I'd like.

Home stuff is expensive. Although I don’t like to talk about money too much, I initially put aside £2000 to furnish my flat but I broke that budget in the end, although not too much over which did surprise me. My flats not finished yet but it’s well on it’s way to being done. I got both my beds, my sofa, my tv, a desk and a bunch of other stuff within that budget. I had absolutely nothing when I moved in (not even kitchen stuff) so I literally started from scratch buying everything from pots and pans to cutlery to my vacuum cleaner. I still need a lot of decor and some shelving units, blinds plus a few rugs but I know thats all stuff that I’ll gather over time now. I have the essentials though!

Me and Aerys seem to have grown closer since we moved. To be completely honest we’ve never been close, she’s always favoured my old housemate Ben. She loves boys for some reason, I found a photo of her and my ex recently when she was watching TV with us and had her paw stretched out holding him! Which she now seems to do with me which makes me melt. On the whole we're pretty okay these days. She doesn’t go outside any more which I think suits her a lot, I was worried she’d pine for the outside but she’s reverted back to her princess day. Spending a lot of her time grooming and sleeping in her bed or on rolling all over my washing. I think she only used to go out because we put her outside rather than her actually wanting to be there. I often wonder if she misses her pal Felix (our neighbours cat) but I think she’s moved on, he did used to bully her and chase her into the house all the time. I have considered getting her a brother but I don’t think I will just yet because Im not personally ready for another cat but I really want to rescue next time around. I have noticed I have to keep her entertained a lot more and give her a lot more attention. She has a scratching post and lots of toys to play with but to be honest she sleeps in her Tipi most of the time.

Anyway there you go, a few thoughts on things I’ve learnt since living alone. I’ve just sort of sat here and typed it out as it came into my head so it kinda lacks structure but I wanted to just word vomit a little on some of my thoughts. I probably should have made this a video but oh well! Let me know if you have anything you want to share on the subject in comments!

Beauty: The Look Fantastic Black Friday Box #LFBLACKFRIDAY

As you know from reading my blog I'm a massive fan of Look Fantastic. I did a little bit of interning there over the summer and I absolutely loved it. A few days ago my day was made when this box arrived in the post for me as it was a complete shock! You can sign up to receive all the latest updates about Black Friday for Look Fantastic here.

This box was full of all the best selling beauty treats available at Look Fantastic right now and I'm beyond excited to give all these a proper try out. Here's what was inside the Look Fantastic Black Friday Beauty Box...

    Tangle Teezer Original Purple Crush
I've actually been a fan of Tangle Teezers for a while. I love how they help detangle your knots in your hair (especially when you're in the shower) and it's been a must-have for me for a long time. I have actually left mine at home by accident so I'm glad I have another one for my university house as they're so good.

For Black Friday you can get 3 for 2 of various haircare products here.

    Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
This is probably my favourite product from Real Techniques. I love the complexion sponge so much and how it doesn't break the bank. I'd love to try out the beauty blender though after reading so many reviews about it. I love using the complexion sponge for blending in concealer and sometimes my foundation when I'm feeling a little bit more lazy when it comes to my make-up routine.
You can get 3 for 2 on Real Techniques here.

    La Roche-Posay Effaclar K

La Roche-Posay are known for their amazing skin products and I've only ever tried out hydrating cream before. I've heard a lot about this product from other beauty blogs so I'm excited to give this product a go. For Black Friday you can get 3 for 2 across all La Roche-Posay products here.

    A Little Amazing Concealer

I'm officially OBSESSED with this concealer. The box came with a leaflet which was about the concealer and how it's so well loved by many celebrities. I was so eager to try it out as on the side of the box it says the 'worlds best concealer'. It's extremely matte so if you have spots, or super dark circles this concealer is for you. I'm obsessed with this in the morning when I've not had the best nights sleep!

For Black Friday you can get 3 for 2 across all the amazing cosmetics range here.

    Glam Glow Youth Mud Treatment
Glam Glow is a completely new brand to me but I'm already intrigued. I love a good face mask when I'm having a pamper session, especially as I haven't found the perfect face mask for my skin type at the moment so I'm looking forward to trying this out.You can receive 3 for 2 on all Glam Glow products here.

    Eve Lom Cleanser
Eve Lom is a brand I've loved for a while I'm so glad I have another lot of this cleanser as I absolutely loved it the first time round! I am so happy this cleanser is back in my life and I can't wait to see the results on my skin.
    Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser
I've not tried this morning time cleanser before but I'm really looking forward to trying this out. My skin never feels hydrated when I wake up at the moment and having already being a fan of Eve Lom products I know this cleanser will be a great new edition to my skincare routine.

    Above my Fireplace

I thought it was about time that I share a little more of my flat as its really starting to get to the point where I'm really happy with it and I actually want to show it off to the world! Here are some snaps of the space above my fireplace in my living room. Obviously in my classic style I wanted to keep it monochrome and packed full of arty prints that reflect me and my interests.

Popular Dress Codes and What They Mean

If you are heading out to an event or for a night out with friends, one of the things that you need to consider is the dress code that is required. While you won’t have a dress code for every place you go to, there are often occasions or venues where a dress code is put into place. If this is the case, you need to ensure that you are aware of what the dress code means so that you can pick the most appropriate outfit.

There are various dress codes that may be implemented depending on where you are going and what type of event you are attending. For instance, a black tie dress code may be in place for certain work functions, VIP weddings and events, and similar occasions. This is where the most appropriate attire for a man would be a tuxedo whereas for females it would be a stylish, elegant gown like the ones we often see female celebrities wearing at red carpet events.

A formal dress code is often in place for certain business events and formal daytime events. Men can simply opt for a smart suit with a shirt and tie to adhere to this dress code while women could choose something such as a tailored dress teamed with a pair of kitten heels, which look formal without looking over the top. The formal dress code is also often referred to as simply smart dress in many cases.

When it comes to a glamorous dress code, there is more flexibility as you can opt for anything from a cocktail dress to an elegant gown as a woman. For men, a black suit with a bow tie or standard tie is a safe bet. This is great for things such as cocktail parties or casino nights. You could even host a cocktail party at home and have everyone attend in glamorous attire to make it more exciting. Alternatively, you could host a casino night party at home and play the table games and online slots at places such as Betway casino with all of your guests dressed up in their most glamorous clothes as you serve up cocktails and finger food.

The smart casual look has become more popular over recent years and this is something that you will often be required to wear if you go to certain venues and clubs as well as more relaxed events. For this sort of outfit, men can pair something like smart jeans or chinos with a tailored shirt or a shirt and blazer without the need for a tie. Women can also opt for a favourite pair of trousers or smart jeans and then simply add a little pizzazz with a dressy top and some heels.

Beauty: New In December Make-up Launches

I've seen a lot of beauty youtube/bloggers do posts similar to this and I think it's a great way to gather up together all of what's new in to my make-up bag and talk about the products! I've been really into make-up right now and I'm enjoying trying out new products so much! GOSH Smokey Nudes Palette - Superdrug

I went into Superdrug a few days ago to pick up some essentials and my lip liner from GOSH which I carry around in my bag 24/7. I spotted that if you spend £10 you receive this gorgeous smoky palette dupe! GOSH Smokey Nudes Palette - Superdrug

I've used this palette a few times already and it's very pigmented. I've never actually tried any Gosh products (aside from the lip liners) but I'm really impressed. You can't beat a couple of new products and an eyeshadow palette for £10 either! GOSH Lip Liner in Antique Rose - Superdrug

This lip liner has been one of my favourites in my make-up bag for quite a while now. I remember swatching it in Superdrug and absolutely loving it. It's a perfect nude if you've got an olive skin tone like me (or if you just like nude tones) and it works so well with Mac's Velvet Teddy.
Sleek Makeup Highlighter In Solstice - Superdrug

You may have seen my post about this palette on Instagram here. I am a little bit in love with this palette. I mean who doesn't love a bit of highlight? I love the shade in the bottom right hand corner to keep my skin looking glowing in this weather!
Beauty UK Lips Matter Lip Laquers* - Beauty UK

At only £3.99 these new lip launches from Beauty UK are a must have. I was so impressed with the colour pay off for these and I'll be definitely wearing the red colour over christmas! Thread and Beauty Angel Lashes - Harvey Nichols*

I was so excited when these lashes came in the post. I've heard a lot about the Thread and Beauty lashes and brows range and I think these lashes will look amazing for those christmas parties! Thread and Beauty Eyebrow Pencil - Harvey Nichols*

If theres one thing I really love taking care of that's my eyebrows. I think when you have dark facial hair your eyebrows really stand out so it's best to really look out for them. I use this pencil to outline my brows before using the Wunderbrow2 Brow Gel.

Soap and Glory Love At First Blush Powder - Boots

Soap and Glory have been one of my favourite make-up brands for years. Do you get excited as well when it's christmas and all the adorable Soap and Glory Beauty Sets come into Boots?! Well as my Solar Powder smashed (It was a sad time) I went in to restock and I not only picked up a new Solar Powder but an eyeliner too and this blusher came free with my purchases! (win)

I haven't really used this yet but when I have I just like a light dusting of blusher over my cheeks.

Soap and Glory Solar Powder - Boots

I feel like this product needs to be renamed as the 'Holy Grail' bronzer. It's the bronzer I always go back to and love and it works so well on my skin tone. I think this bronzer would work well on lighter skin tones too as it has a lighter shade.
Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner - Boots

I've been really into eyeliner at the moment, especially when rocking a smokey eye on a night out. I am so excited to try this out and with it being a Soap and Glory product I'm sure it won't disappoint. (I'll report back on this one!)
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara - Boots

Soap and Glory are known for their mascaras and I am so excited to have this back in my life. I remember trying it out a few years ago and loving it. What's better is you can pick up this bad boy (alongside the love at first blush) when you spend £15 or more at Boots at the moment!

What are you lusting after from these new launches? Any beauty products you would recommend?

Beauty: Look Fantastic December Beauty Box Review

    Look Fantastic December Beauty Box*

It's that time of the month again! (not that time of the month) the time of the month where there's a new Look Fantastic Beauty Box! I absolutely love every box Look Fantastic do every month and i've discovered so many new products thanks to this beauty box.

    The Wet Brush In Yellow
I was beyond excited to see this in this months Beauty Box! I actually lost my last wet brush (It was an awful time) as this brush works complete wonders on curly hair. I'm excited to have this brush back in my handbag as it's a miniature version.
Molton Brown Japanese Orange Body Wash
Molton Brown products always smell SO good. I'm looking forward to trying this one out (as it smells gorgeous) when my current body wash runs out.
    Codage Radiance and Energy Serum
I think I mentioned in my review for last months Look Fantastic Beauty Box review about how I wasn't happy with my skin at the moment and so I was super happy to see a Codage product in this months box. I'm excited to hopefully have more radiant looking skin soon after using this!
Lord and Berry Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil
Lord and Berry literally have some of the nicest make-up products I've ever tried. Their eye liners always have a great pigmentation and I love creating smokey eye looks using them! They're so small though so it's easy to loose them so make sure you keep it zipped in your make-up bag!
    Eyelure Dramatic (No. 205) Lashes
It's the Look Fantastic December box and it wouldn't be complete without a set of Eyelure lashes. These are super dramatic compared to my usual No.100 lashes I go for but I'll definitely be trying these out over christmas!
What do you think of this months Look Fantastic beauty box? What's your favourite product in this months box?

    Things Every Blogger Should Have

    The basic blogger’s kit

Trust me, every blogger’s setup is different and as you learn and expand your skills as a blogger things might change, but here are a few items that I think every blogger needs to start out and a few points you might actually considered.

What would a blog post be without images? I’m not going to recommend a specific make and model as not everyone needs the same thing. There is a large variety of equipment out there to suit every budget and need so it does depend on your skill level and dedication.

I personally use the Canon 700d with a Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens, but that’s just my preferred set up. I’d really recommend researching cameras and learning how to use them properly. Check the photography tips section for some basic tips on blogging photography.

Two things to certainly keep in mind when thinking about investing in a camera are, first of all, that flip out screens are SO handy when taking self shots and setting up scenes. Secondly, I’d recommend investing in extra lenses for your camera, as that what makes the camera “see” and can improve the quality infinitely compared to buying an expensive body.

However, for starting out you could probably even get away with just using the camera on your smartphone. Whilst it might not be the best solution, at least you will have something to start with. When you get to the point that you are ready to commit to blogging, then it might be time to look for professional camera options to take your blog to the next level.

    Spare Battery

There is nothing worse than setting up a pretty bloggable scene than turning on your camera and seeing the dreaded red battery bar. Keep a charged backup within arms reach at all times! I actually have three spare batteries for both my vlogging camera and my main camera. This way I dont get caught out. Some Cameras even have AC sockets and plugs that you can use to power your camera without needing the battery to be charged. It reminds me that I must buy one for my new camera actually!

    Tripod and a Remote

An absolute blogging must have. The tripod can be used to take self shots, reducing the shaky hand syndrome, and a remote adds a hands-free approach to your photo taking. You can pick up remotes for most cameras and once you get one it’ll change your life.

    External Hard drive

I cannot stress how important this is, both for blogging and non-blogging things! After a laptop crash and loosing all my precious files in 2010, I forever worry about my computer dying and losing everything, including my years and years of photographs and videos. Having an external hard drive in your blogging arsenal is an absolute must have. Religiously back up your important files as you never know when you might need them.

    Extra Memory Cards

Having one 32GB card is simple not enough, well unless you're super diligent about deleting files that you've transferred to your computer. Me on the other hand is useless at this so I always have a backup of memory cards on hand. These can be picked up super cheap on Amazon these days so well worth investing in a few!

Sometimes writing things down by putting pen to paper is a better way to keep your thoughts together than scrambling to write them all down in your smartphones’ note section. Keep all your creative ideas in the same place so you can refer back to them as and when you need a spark of inspiration.

    Portable Charger

Tbh, I'd recommend everyone getting one of these if they are a blogger or not. When you spot a fire Instagram opportunity and you have decide between taking that snap or being able to call your Dad for a lift home. Keeping a portable charger on hands means you're constantly powered up and dont have to scramble for the nearest Starbucks to plug in your phone!

Lifestyle: Female Affordable Christmas Gift Guide

When it gets to this time of the year I find blogging so exciting. I think content on blogs at the moment has really upped it's game and I love watching peoples vlogmas videos and feeling all christmassy!

I thought I would put together a female christmas gift guide to give you all some ideas for if you're searching for Mums, Sisters, Nieces, Best Friends or any woman in your life.

    December Glossybox (Really Ree Collaboration)*
I realised once I took the photos for these blog photos I hadn't actually got a separate photo of this months GlossyBox. It's probably a good thing as I have a special review coming up in a couple of days on my blog. I've never tried a Glossybox before but this months box is SO CHRISTMASSY. It's a collaboration with beauty blogger Really Ree and I tell you for £10 this box really doesn't disappoint.
IT by Alexa Chung - Amazon

I think this book is a general must have for any young fashion lover. Alexa Chung is a bit of an icon of our generation and her book is a great coffee table book or if you love her style and want a little more of an insight into her life.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - Look Fantastic

This is probably my third complexion sponge which I own. I absolutely love using these but at the same time they're a little bit of a nightmare to keep clean! I love using this sponge for foundation and primer application. I think this is a great gift for a make-up lover or a great stocking filler as it's about £5!

Benefit Operation Pore Proof Gift Set - ASOS

Benefit do amazing gift sets when it comes to christmas time. I literally want all of them! I think what's great with Benefit is all their products are amazing so you know you're getting really good value for money. If you're female friend is skin obsessed this is a great gift.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - Feel Unique

Naked Palettes make AMAZING christmas presents. I'm sure if you're reading this post you have a make-up and beauty obsessed female in your life and this palette will no doubt make her christmas! I love the Naked 3 Palette and it's a great all round product for anyone who loves to create unique eyeshadow looks.

    Tangle Teezer - Look Fantastic

A Tangle Teezer is a great stocking filler. They are complete lifesavers when you're busy and on the go. I love my Tangle Teezer while i'm in the shower because with curly hair it gets knots in so easily. At about £12 this product is a great stocking filler.

Hugo Boss Orange Gift Set - The Perfume Shop

I'm so happy I finally have this fragrance! I always eye it up when i'm in a perfume shop or beauty store. I received it in an amazing (surprise) parcel this week from The Perfume Shop and I was so happy. It definitely made my day! I think it's about £40 which isn't too bad for a perfume gift set if you're looking in the more affordable range!

What's on your christmas wish list? What's your favourite product in this gift guide?

Beauty: Look Incredible December Beauty Box Review

There's a new beauty box on the market and this one is full to the brim of make-up. Could it get any better? I think not. Don't get me wrong I'm a massive fan of all the beauty boxes but this one has really surprised me. I've not heard of the Look Incredible Beauty Box* before but this box is definitely one to look out for. I think this box is amazing as a one off sort of treat but if you're like me and absolutely make-up you'll probably want to hit the subscribe button now!

Tarte 'Lights Camera Flashes Mascara' - £15.99
I've just looked online and the Tarte Lights Camera Flashes Mascara retails at £29. I've heard so many bloggers and vloggers rave about Tarte mascara and I'm so glad I finally have one in my life to try. Online at Smartzprice they sell it for £15.99 and the beauty box itself is £18.99 so it's well worth a purchase!

Nails Inc Nail Polish In Marylebone Mews - £5.99
Nails Inc nail polishes have always been one of my favourite brands. I love how their polishes last so well (at least 3-5 days without chipping) and the colour pay-off of the colours is just brilliant. I actually don't have this colour and so I'm looking forward to rocking this colour.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Exclusive Blake's Pure Red - £5.99
Lately I've become a bit of a fan of L'Oreal lipsticks. Don't get me wrong I'm 100% a MAC Lipsticks sort of girl but I don't mind a good drugstore dupe. I've been a fan of Gossip Girl since I was about 14 years old and so I'm so glad I can start wearing Blake Lively's signature red lipstick.

Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss In 35mm
Smashbox is a brand I've never actually tried before (shocking I know!) I read so many reviews about Smashbox products and this lip gloss is 100% perfect for my skin tone.

    Liz Earle Eyelash Curlers
I'm actually a big fan of the Liz Earle cleanse and polish and so I was excited to see these in this Look Incredible Beauty Box! I've actually lost my eyelash curlers (but I've replaced the loss with my Urban Decay Primer Mascara which is amazing) so I'm happy I have another pair of eyelash curlers in my life!

    Bare Minerals Deep Cleansing Foam
Bare Minerals is a brand I always hear so much about. I've tried a couple of eyeshadows from them before and I loved them. I think this product would be perfect for my skincare routine after using my micellar water.
This box retails at £18.99 and with the value of these products it's 100% worth a try if there's some brands you really want to try but have normally been a bit to expensive!
What do you think of this Look Incredible box? Which is your favourite product in this months box?

Beauty: Glossybox December Beauty Box Review

It seems to me that the beauty boxes this month have gone all out! You may remember a post from a few days ago (here) where I was telling you all about this months exciting Glossybox collaboration with beauty blogger Really Ree. The box is definitely as gorgeous as it looks in the photos too.

You know it's going to be a good beauty box when it's a collaboration with a top beauty blogger. If you haven't checked out Ree's blog before you can check it out here.
Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Oil Cream (Full size £65)

The winter feels like it destroys my skin. I find that at the moment I'm feeling spotty, my skin is dry and i'm just not quite sure what's going on with it. When I saw this in this months Glossybox I was so excited. I've read about this Darphin Cream before and so I'm super excited to give this a go.

Essence Liquid Lipstick In Show Off (Full Size £2.50)

Essence is a seriously underrated make-up brand. If you don't know about Essence make-up they can be found in Wilkinsons. I find all the Essence products I've tried are such good value for money and I've swatched this lipstick on my hand the colour pigmentation is gorgeous.

Cheeky Chat Me Up Nail Paint (Full size £7)

I feel like I'm a bit of a nail polish magpie. I feel the need to have every colour I see at the moment. I love changing the colour of my nails pretty much daily and who doesn't love a good nude pink nail polish?!

Etre Belle Golden Skin Caviar Eye Roll On (Full size £30.66)

I find that every blogger I know seems to be using eye creams at the moment (well they seem to from reading their blogs) and I've never actually tried one. I tend to just rely on my concealer to hide my dark under eye bags in the morning when I'm super tired. After looking at a couple of reviews online they say it hydrates your skin really well so I'll report back on this!

Starskin Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Mask (Full size £8.50)

What sort of girl doesn't enjoy a pamper session?! I've had one this evening actually (well the evening I'm writing this post) and they always make me feel so much better about life and who doesn't love a quality bit of TLC? I'm looking forward to giving this a go as the mask as it's been proven to hydrate your skin which will get your skin party ready!

So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil (Full size £15)

This highlighter pencil is 100% my favourite product in this months Glossybox. I feel like I'm having a real moment with highlighters as they make my skin seem dewy and glowy when it actually feels dehydrated at the moment!

Will you be picking up this months Glossybox? Which is your favourite product? Do you love this collaboration?

Beauty: Birchbox (Birchbag) December 2015 Review

December really is the month of AMAZING beauty boxes. To my surprise this month's Birchbox came in the form of a clutch bag and I couldn't have been more excited. 2015 has really been an exciting year for Birchbox* and I find that their boxes just get more and more exciting each month.

This is the sort of treat for yourself which you could keep at your office (or your handbag) just in case you end up going for after work drinks to a party or even a date night. This months box has completely got you sorted this party season and you can reuse the clutch after! (win)

Benefit The Ultimate Party Kit - Puff Off! and They're Real Push-Up Liner Duo (RRP for both is £41)

First up we have the Benefit (Birchbox Exclusive) ultimate party kit. If you're like me and you love a bit of Benefit, you'll be so excited to receive these two samples in this months Birchbox. First of all how cute is this mini push-up liner? it won't take up any space in your bag and you can master the cat-eye flick on the go. The morning after you can soothe your tired eyes with Puff Off.

Rituals T'ai Chi Foaming Shower Gel (RRP £8.50)

I'm so excited about this foaming shower gel. Firstly because I've tried Rituals a few times before and love the brand but secondly as this is a TRAVEL SIZE version. It seems to be that whenever me and my boyfriend go away we never have hold luggage so this will be super handy when I next go away as the hand luggage limit is 100ml.
Catherine Malandrino Style De Pars Eau De Parfum (RRP £50)

After giving this sample size a quick spray I am definitely a fan of this scent. The notes are mandarin, grapefruit and pear so this definitely has a fruity smell to it.
Model Co Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Smitten (RRP £15.50 for set of 3)

Every Model Co Cosmetics products I've tried I've absolutely love. I'd 100% recommend their eyebrow products and mascaras. I've only ever received Model Co cosmetic products with goody bags or beauty boxes so I have no idea where you can actually purchase Model Co in the UK. If you know of anywhere please let me know!
Embryolsse Lait-Creme Concentre (RRP from £12.99)

According to many beauty reviews online, this is a make-up artists cult classic. It hydrates your skin thanks to the aloe vera and shea butter and leaves your skin feeling super soft.
Ciate London Glitter Nail Polish (RRP £9)

This is my favourite product in this months Birchbox. I didn't realise how GOOD Ciate London nail polishes are. I used Revlons nail polish in 535 Perfect Pair and used this glitter polish on top and I'm absolutely loving this combination.

You can pick up this months Birchbox (Birchbag) for £10 with £2.95 P&P.

Overall I think this box is absolutely amazing. I think this Birchbox covers all areas of beauty this month. You've got your red lipstick, statement liner, glittery nail polish and hydrating cream and shower gel. I think the variety of the products alone is worth a purchase and then you have a gorgeous clutch bag perfect for the party season ahead!

What do you think of this months Birchbox? Which is your favourite product in this months Birchbox?

I feel like I haven't done a post like this in FOREVER. I used to love putting these sort of wish lists together but I've been feeling a little bit less inspired lately. Let me get you all up to date with what's been going on... I'm sure I've mentioned but I'm writing my dissertation at the moment which is taking up a lot of time. I've recently gone to my boyfriend's work do and managed to pick up this gorgeous dress (and it didn't break the bank!) Also I've been really into thick wooly jumpers and jeans and dressing comfy so I definitely think I need a christmas jumper like this one in my life!

I've been loving bobble hats lately and I think it's because it's so cold outside. I have this one from Topshop which I absolutely love but this one from New Look is half the price (bargain!) Beauty: Feel Unique Beauty Haul & Zeek App

First of all I'd like to introduce you all to a new app for your iphone/android you can download and it's called Zeek. If you've not heard of Zeek before, it's an app where you can sell you're unwanted gift cards and save money on purchases as the vouchers are sold at a discount.

I was given credit to try out this app and I had the swiftest experience with it. I went for a £50 Feel Unique voucher and made some very good purchases with it and even managed to use a discount on top of my purchase on Feel Unique to save some £'s.

I think it's 100% worth it if you're sending a voucher to a friend for a present, you want to treat yourself or just save a couple of £'s on somewhere you'd always shop. What's great is you can get £5 your first purchase with the code 2YY4O5!

Urban Decay Setting Spray - Feel Unique (sold out by available here)

I'm a big fan of Urban Decay Cosmetics. I nearly (not quite) own all the Naked Palettes and I use at least one of them in my make-up routine everyday. I've become more of a fan of the brand lately (as you can see from this post) and It made me want to purchase this setting spray even more. I have a full review coming soon (yes it's so good I have a separate review) so watch out for that!

TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer Luminiser - Feel Unique

I've been a big fan of the highlight trend this past few months. I find that highlighter can make me look more awake, like I have dewy skin and of course make me look like I have a decent set of cheekbones! I've heard a fair few beauty youtubers talk about this in the past and I have to say this highlighter doesn't disappoint. I think what's great is that you can layer it up so if you want a light highlight or a heavy highlight this is 100% worth investing in.

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara - Feel Unique

A few weeks ago I had never actually heard of NYX cosmetics (my bad!) and I'm so annoyed at myself for not finding out about the brand sooner. The collection is now stocked on Feel Unique and the price points don't break the bank either. I've heard ViviannaDoesMakeup talk about this in a video and she is 100% right this product is a must have. It sets my brows perfectly and It's the perfect budget option at only £5.50.

NYX Tame and Brow Pomade - Feel Unique

This is another brow product which I've fallen a little bit in love with. I've heard so much about the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade and so I was super excited to try the budget option. This is another product which Anna from ViviannaDoesmakeup raved about and it definitely makes my brows look just that little bit fuller.

NYX Eyeshadow Primer - Feel Unique

This is actually the only make-up product I haven't tried yet in this haul. I was very tempted to pick up the Urban Decay Primer Potion but it's a bit of a dent in my bank balance If I picked that up alongside the setting spray. So naturally, I went for the budget option. Having been so impressed in the NYX brow products I'm sure I won't be disappointed by this primer.

NYX Love In Paris Eyeshadow Palette - Feel Unique

I've used this palette a couple of times and It's not the best pigmentation but it's still a great all round palette to create a smokey eye. I definitely prefer the likes of TheBalm and Urban Decay but this is still a great palette for under £10.

Fleur De Force Beauty Bundle - Feel Unique

I can't help but by into the youtuber make-up ranges which are everywhere at the moment. I have to say I don't rate some of the Tanya Burr nail polishes I've tried but I've tried this quad from Fleur De Force and it's absolutely beautiful. The colour pigmentation in this eyeshadow quad is amazing! I've met Fleur (twice I think) and she's been lovely and I love watching her vlogs and beauty videos.

I've definitely found that since spending my days writing my dissertation in the university library i've become a little bit addicted to watching vlogmas and beauty videos.

Next, I'd like to tell you all about the #ZEEKFACE competition! basically to be in with the chance to win £400 all you have to do is take a photo and imagine you've just received a present you don't want (what you're really thinking and not that fake happy smile) and upload it via your social media channels and tag Zeek. The winner will win £400 in Zeek credit (that's a lot of shopping!!) and three runners up will win £100 credit each.

So here's my entry for the ZEEKFACE competition!

I think this is a super fun competition worth entering as you never know you might be the lucky winner! I'm wearing most of the beauty products I've mentioned in this post in the photo too.

What do you think of this beauty haul? What beauty items have you been loving at the moment?

Which is your favourite product from this haul?

    That Green Fedora

I bought this hat a few weeks ago and its barely left my head since I picked it up. I honestly didn't realise how much my wardrobe needed Green Fedora until I got this one. It adds the perfect ammount of colour and a little bit of extra oomph to a basic outfit. I know I have approximately 2 billion fedoras but there is always room for another one in my life.

Beauty: The Ultimate Beauty Box - Cohorted December Edition Review

There's a been a bit of a buzz on social media about this months Cohorted beauty box. I'd describe this beauty box as quite a luxury one. It's something you can pay for one off (as a treat to yourself) and you'll know you'll never be left disappointed about. While I was working on my dissertation last week in the library I had a missed parcel slip to pick up and after the 2 mile walk to the post office yesterday morning I was beyond excited when it turned out to be this months Cohorted beauty box. I actually rushed around this morning to take blog photos for this post (as it was a little bit lighter but still not 100%). I've read a couple of reviews online already and this months box is in collaboration with fellow beauty blogger Michelle from Thou Shalt Not Covet.

One thing I really like about the Cohorted beauty box is the contents really do range but within the range I always find quite a luxury make-up brand I've never tried before. In the last box I received (check out the post here) I discovered cosmetics brand 'Thebalm' and I have to say I'm now obsessed with them! So lets get onto this months box...

Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer in Ross and Rachel - £28 (available here)

First up this months box includes possibly the best named make-up product ever. How did I not know that there's a make-up product named after Ross and Rachel from Friends? They are my ultimate favourite TV couple. I've heard a lot about Too Faced products (especially their chocolate bar palettes) but I've never tried anything from them. First of all the packaging for this is insane. I love how it's come as a compact which means it's perfect for applying make-up on the go.

NARS Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatment in Lana - £19.50 (available here)

Thanks to the last Cohorted beauty box I received I tried NARS for the first time. I've heard so many beauty bloggers/youtubers rave about the velvet matte lip pencils and boy did they not disappoint. My lip pencil Walkryie is a handbag staple of mine. First impressions of this product is it's more of a summery lip product as it has SPF 15 protection. You can obviously still use this in the winter though as who doesn't need a lip balm in winter to keep your lips moisturised?!
NARS Flat Concealer Brush - £24 (available here)

Seeing another NARS product in this months box was a huge shock. Literally how amazing is this months box?! I've heard big things about MAC make-up brushes (which I still haven't tried yet) and NARS brushes and so I have a feeling this will soon become a staple in my make-up routine. I think this brush will be great for applying concealer under the eyes but also for targeting blemishes. It's quite a dense brush but it seems to blend the concealer quite well (well it works for me anyway!)

MAC Lipstick in Rebel - £15.50 (available here)

I've never ever received a MAC product in a beauty box so as you can see I was super excited about seeing this in this months box. I am a massive fan of MAC Lipsticks and I've never been disappointed by them. I don't actually own Rebel but I'm really excited to give this shade a try, especially as it's such a wintery colour.

Marc Jacobs Dot Perfume Sample (full size available here)
This is possibly my favourite perfume of all time (aside from Marc Jacobs Daisy) and I've never been disappointed from a Marc Jacobs perfume. I'd say this is definitely more of a summery perfume but Daisy is a great perfume if you're looking for an all year round scent. Dot is a very fruity and light scent which reminds me of summer! I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking to update your perfume collection.
What do you think of this months Cohorted box? I think this is a great purchase if you're fancying treating yourself and there's already been a sneak preview to January's box which you can order (and check out the preview of it) here.

    Boots of Dreams

Im well aware I have a bit of a shoe addiction at the moment. As someone thats never really been that into shoes it's come as a bit of a surprise to me as I literally cant stop purchasing them. I saw these Red Croc patent ones a while ago in New Look but never picked them up as they didn't have my size.

I did a little ASOS Haul recently and saw these bad boys on my nosey around the site. They are a lot taller than the shoes that Ive been drawn to recently. I always feel like super high heels make me feel like a giant (even though im only 5ft5, my proportions just look a little odd. None the less I adore these boots on they are much comfier than I initially thought they would be!

Fashion: Grey Coat & Tartan Scarf

Coat - Pretty Little Thing* (sold out but similar here and here)

    Polo Neck Top - Topshop

    Tartan Scarf - New Look

    High-waisted jeans - Topshop

    Bag - Ted Baker

    Boots - Cloggs*

It's finally time for me to be able to go home for christmas! I'm far too excited about it as I'm quite a home sort of girl. I go back every few weeks but when I have gone home it's never been a good time to shoot some photos for this blog. I think the weather has been truly awful lately and there's been so many outfits I've wanted to shoot but I've had no time (or daylight hours) to be able too.

Now i'll be back home soon and not living in the library everyday I'll be able to squeeze some outfit photos in! I've found myself living in polo necks and jeans at the moment. I walk a mile to uni everyday and a mile back and so it's always so warm while i'm walking so I don't want to layer up too much. As part of their cyber weekend deal I picked up this coat and i've been loving it as it keeps me warm but I haven't had to layer up too much.

    Tartan Scarf - New Look

    High-waisted jeans - Topshop

    Boots - Cloggs*

Due to the awful weather when I took these photos I only liked a few photos. It was so so windy and I managed to drag my boyfriend to take these shots for me as I was desperate to take some outfit shots! I've teamed this coat with a simple polo neck from Topshop (available here) and dark blue joni jeans (available here) and I think with this tartan scarf from New Look it's the ultimate comfy (but stylish) I'm off to university look.

    High-waisted jeans - Topshop

    Boots - Cloggs*

So let's talk about my new boots from Cloggs. When you're walking all day everyday (well to university and back and up loads of hills) I was in need of some good, comfy leather boots. These babies arrived in my life a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to take them off since. They're leather, they keep my feet dry no matter what the weather and they look stylish! When it comes to boots in the winter I genuinely think it's worth spending just that little bit more on the perfect pair which will last you season after season so thank you so much Cloggs!

Once I'm back into the swing of things you'll be seeing a lot more outfit photos from me over christmas. I seem to be wearing loads of outfits I want to shoot but I never seem to be able to find that time or daylight hours to be able to shoot them! The joys of being a full time student ey?!

Beauty: Mark Hill Hair Tools & Products

Well this months been a month of disasters (sort of) my laptop chargers died so I had to purchase a new one and now my hair dryers gone the same way! Why does everything break at the same time?!
So I went to the mothership (aka Boots) to pick up a new hair dryer and boy was I in for a treat.
With all the offers on at the moment it was probably a good thing my hairdryer broke when it did. I picked myself up this Mark Hill Glam Kit.

It was an absolute steal at £29.99 but also as it came with straighteners alongside a hairbrush too. I'd say the only downside to this hairdryer (which I didn't realise) is that it doesn't have a nozzle bit on the front. In a way I don't actually mind too much about this as with being a curly haired girl, I don't want to go overboard on the heat on my hair but as the settings aren't as powerful as my old hairdryer i'm still drying my hair but with less damage.

Thanks to my Boots points I was able to pick up a new anti-humidity spray. I haven't been happy with my current one and I needed something with my hold so my hair doesn't frizz so much. I've given the Mark Hill Anti-Humidity Spray and I'm really liking this product so far. It's definitely working more for me than the Batiste one I was using and it has more hold.
I also picked up the Mark Hill Heat Protection Spray, this I wasn't as pleased with but I wanted to try something new out (which was cheaper) as my current spray is £9. I think this Mark Hill Heat Protectant is better in the summery months. It seemed to take some of the moisture out of my hair. If you're a straight haired girl I'm sure this spray would work really well for you though!

The last product I've been trying out is the Mark Hill Perfecting Polish Hair Putty. Any product which claims to tame fly aways I'm completely on board with. After trying this a few times I think it's something I'll grow more to loving. With freshly washed hair this works really well as when I'm styling my hair this helps tames the frizz and fly aways.

Have you tried any Mark Hill products? What are your favourite hair products to use?

Beauty: The £1 MAC Soar Lip Liner Dupe

A few days ago I was going through my make-up stash and noticed a few lip liners similar to Mac's lip liner in Soar. Even better is that I noticed I picked up one of these dupes for only £1! (yes £1) so I thought I'd share you this dream find with you all to help you save a few pennies!
I know you all love a good dupe on my blog. You may remember the £5 Velvet Teddy Dupe posts (check out the post here and here). I was amazed when I watched this P.S Love Beauty Lip Liner from Primark that how similar it was to Mac's Soar Lip Liner. The other lip liner in my stash similar to soar is mauve moment lip liner by Max Factor which you can pick up for £4.99.From left to right (mauve moment by Max Factor, Soar Lip Liner, P.S Love Beauty liner)
As you can see from the swatches that the middle lip liner is Mac's soar and the swatch on the right is the £1 Primark dupe. The colours are both incredibly similar and these dupes are perfect if you're looking for a more affordable lip liner.

Obviously Mac's soar is incredibly long lasting on the lips and a little bit more pigmented but for when I'm on a night out or going out for the evening i'll be packing my primark dupe as I definitely don't want to take Soar out as I'd be so worried I'd loose it!
What do you think of these Mac Soar Lip Liner dupes?

    Another Matte Lipstick

So I was ordering some Christmas presents online and came across NYX being stocked on Selfridges. Naturally after a quick swatch Google and the justification of "I deserve a Christmas present too" I ended up picking a few shades of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream's - Cannes, Morroco and Stockholm.

I was immediately drawn to Stockholm which is a pretty natural but quite light pink shade. I've been opting for brown nudes a lot recently leaving behind my peachy pink roots none the less this lipstick wowed me on first application and I've barely worn anything else on my lips since. I've tried the NYX Soft Matte Lip before but I didnt love the colour. the formula is really lovely and so forgiving on chapped lips like my own. The kind of lip product you can easily apply without needed a mirror. It's non drying, creamy and unlike a lot of the matte lip formulations out there. At £5.50 they are a budget friendly alternative to higher end liquid lipsticks, without any of the dryness. Big thumbs up from me.

Beauty: Love Me Beauty Box December Review

Love Me Beauty boxes have changed SO much since I first started receiving them about 6 months ago. I find that the Love Me Beauty boxes have always had products so suitable to my skin type and the variety of products is amazing and so varied for the £10 box price. Each month you receive 60 credits to spend in the Love Me Beauty boutique. So you can pick whatever you want to put in your box from skincare, nails, make-up to haircare.

This new style packaging of the box is so grown up and chic and gives this beauty box a whole new appearance. Anyone else love saving beauty boxes and using them as make-up storage?! and the drawing string bag it comes in is so useful for storing your make-up on the go. Especially if you're carrying brushes and you don't want to ruin your make-up bag with them. So let's get onto this month's box...

    1. Percy and Reed No Fuss Flawless Dry Conditioner (RRP £12)

So if you're like me you probably swear by dry shampoo. I've never actually tried any dry conditioner before but I can confirm after trying this out a couple of times that this is an absolute treat. I find that because it's winter my hair isn't as nourished as it would normally be and this product has sorted my hair right out and gives it so much more nourishment.

    2. Monu Skincare Moisture Rich Hydrating Mask
Monu Skincare is actually one of my favourite skincare brands. Every product I've tried by Monu I've loved. I'm currently using the everyday moisturiser and it's made such a difference to my skin lately. I've not actually tried this mask out but I know I won't be disappointed with this product.

    3. Dr Lipp's Nipple Balm (RRP £12)
I've never heard of this brand before but this balm is definitely a multi-tasking one! You can use this balm on your skin, tame your eyebrows, as a lip balm or for cuticle and nail care. I definitely think this is going to be a handbag essential of mine!

    4. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
This product by Nuxe seems to be a regular in the beauty boxes and so I've tried this out a few times. I love how hydrating this product is on my skin but sometimes it can leave my skin feeling more oily then moisturised. I'd recommend it for those of you which have super dry skin though.

    5. Roques O'Neil Skin Repair Serum

Roques O'Neil is a brand I've never actually heard of before. But since getting into skincare a little bit more (I'm trying to find my perfect skincare products) so I'm really excited to try out this serum.

    6. Cailyn Eyeshadow Pencil

This product by Cailyn I was probably most excited about in this months box. I love the colour of this eyeshadow pencil and how when I use this in the corner of my eye to create a smokey eye the pigmentation of this pencil is incredible!

    7. Gold Necklace with Rose Quartz Stone
With the whole revamp of the Love Me Beauty website and packaging they've created there own jewellery line too and it's a gorgeous collection of dainty jewellery and how gorgeous is this necklace?!

This months Love Me Beauty box is 100% one of there best boxes to date and I'm a little bit in love with the new style to the boxes and the packaging!

With the code 'BECCA50' you can receive 50% off your first box! Amazing right?! I'd definitely go ahead and treat yourself this month. The Love Me Beauty boutique has incredible brands such as Nails Inc, Percy and Reed, Lord and Berry, Monu, Nuxe and Dr Paw Paw. The brands in this months boutique are quite expensive normally so this months Love Me Beauty box is well worth picking up if some of these brands are ones you've wanted to try out for a long time without breaking the bank!

What do you think of this months box? Which is your favourite product?

Lifestyle: My 5 Goals for 2016

I can't believe we're coming to the end of 2015. I think this year has gone way to quickly! So I thought I'd put together a post about some of my goals for 2016.

    1. To finish my degree - Okay so this goal is inevitable. I will finish my degree but right now it seems like a lifetime away... as I type this posts I'm having a break from writing my dissertation! I have a dissertation to complete, a final major project and a portfolio project all before the end of may so my degree is definitely going to be keeping me very busy in the coming months!

    2. To travel more - This year's really been a year of travel for me. Since meeting my boyfriend last year we've really enjoyed travelling together. In February we went on a few days away to Dublin (you can read my post about it here). In June/July we went to Crete which was absolutely amazing. (you can check out my posts about it here, here and here) and in September we took a weekend trip to Amsterdam and you can take a look at my posts about it here and here.

    3. When there's budget are tight to enjoy more staycations - I've always wanted to see as much of England as I can, having lived in a few places and always loving traveling I'm keen to discover more parts of England I haven't yet seen. Birmingham is somewhere I've lived in the past and I've always loved visiting. There's always something new to see and do and their christmas markets are my absolute favourite! Other places I've always wanted to visit are Brighton, Edinburgh, Bath, Norfolk and Cardiff.

    4. Work more on my blog - I think for the start of 2016 this goal will be a little bit harder to do as I'm so busy with my third year projects right now but to work more on my content is more to create the best content I can for my blog. Some of my goals for 2016 is to reach 10,000 followers on Instagram (you can follow me here), to reach 5,000 on Blog Lovin (you can follow me here) and hopefully see an increase in the people which are reading Fashion-Train.

    5. To find a graduate job - Seems as I finish my degree at the end of May I hope to find a graduate job soon after. I think finding a job right now is so difficult and I hope that I can find a job which I'll love and enjoy and be able to grow with in years to come. But I'll have to finish my degree first!
What are your goals for 2016?

    Beauty: Fragrance Direct Beauty Haul

If you're looking for a place where you can get your perfumes a little bit cheaper then on the high-street the place to look is Fragrance Direct. I've actually placed an order just a few weeks ago for one of my boyfriends christmas gifts! When I was looking on Fragrance Direct I noticed they sell make-up including brands such as MAC, Cargo, W7, Essie, Rimmel and Bare Minerals.

W7 The Glam Box* - Fragrance Direct
I recently received a W7 cosmetics calendar which I absolutely loved. W7 cosmetics is a brand I've never actually tried before but it's so so affordable. I've heard a lot about the 'In The Buff' palette which is a dupe for Urban Decays Naked 2 Palette. This box of palettes really surprised me as the make-up palettes are so pigmented and affordable. If you're looking for a last minute christmas treat to yourself (or a friend) I'd definitely pick this up.

Cargo Cosmetics 'Let's Meet In Paris' Eye Palette* - Fragrance Direct

Cargo Cosmetics is a brand I've read so much about online. I've always wanted to try one of their eyeshadow palettes and now I finally have one in my life! I absolutely love the colours of the eyeshadow in this palette. I think this palette will be great for creating a smokey eye look but always a christmas themed eye look too. My favourite colours in this palette are Eiffel Tower, Creme Brûlée, Bonjour and Cafe.
Look Good Feel Better The Makeover Brush Set* - Fragrance Direct

Look Good Feel Better is a brand I feel isn't raved about enough. I am a massive fan of the Real Techniques brushes but I tried a Look Good Feel Better brush a few months ago (I think it was this brush) and I absolutely love it. I use it to create eyeshadow looks everyday when I do my make-up routine. The quality of the brushes is insane and they seem to feel and look a lot more expensive then they are. I'm so excited to introduce this brush set into my daily make-up routine as inside this set there is a Powder Brush, Finishing Brush, Tapered Blending Brush and Detail Brush.

MAC Frost Lipstick in Fluid* - Fragrance Direct

I'm a huge fan of MAC cosmetics lipsticks and I use them everyday. When I noticed that Fragrance Direct stock MAC cosmetics online I was pretty excited. What's great about the make-up section on Fragrance Direct is that all the make-up is slightly discounted too which is a total win. This lipstick looked a lot lighter than it is online but when I watched it it's quite a sheer but deep brown colour. I think this lipstick will look great over one of my darker MAC lipsticks such as Rebel or Taupe.

Which is your favourite product from this haul? Have you ever shopped at Fragrance Direct before?

    Loving Yourself This Christmas

Are You Looking Forward To Christmas This Year?
When you read something urging you to “love yourself this Christmas” this may seem to run directly contrary to the true spirit of Christmas, one of being loving and giving and helping those less fortunate than yourself. But that is to fundamentally misunderstand the true concept of self-love.
So the first step is to develop your ability to practice ‘self-love’ in the true sense of what is meant spiritually by the term.

Self-love is all about fundamentally understanding your own needs and being aware of your own qualities in ways that will actually help and enable others. In many senses, then, truly understanding self-love really is more appropriate at Christmas than at any other time of year as it is ultimately a selfless thing.

Achieving a deep understanding of self-love is valuing yourself as a truly unique individual, as important a piece of what is divine in our universe as anyone else. This is not to be confused with self-absorption or self-pity and it most certainly isn’t about acting in a selfish way to get whatever you want.

Don't feel guilty about giving love to yourself as well as others this Christmas
When you love yourself, you love to help others but you also understand what you need to function properly – and what is your birth-right, to be treated with respect and to treat others likewise. When you truly respect yourself, you respect other people, too. The two go hand in hand and are of equal importance.

Many people confuse this respect for the self with getting what they want in a materialistic way. That is not true self-love. So, for example; buying yourself an expensive sports car following a windfall may be no bad thing. But this isn’t the same things as self-love, particularly if the purchase is made because you feel you need to increase your self-esteem. You may well decide to be a little self-indulgent and to take pride both in who you are and what you do, having the inner courage to truly be yourself and to express yourself in whatever way you see fit. But only when this is internally-driven from the soul rather than something done to impress other people is it really self-love.

So for most people, being comfortable about who they are and accepting the differences with others is a positive step forward. Perhaps the Desiderata sums it up best when it says to “speak your truth quietly and clearly”. But it also encourages to listen to others, including the “dull and the ignorant” because they too have their story. Doing what you believe to be right through a true love of yourself almost always involves helping other people, being kind and generous to others – and acting selflessly.
If you’re doubtful about the truth of this later statement, then try something out. Try doing a random act of kindness for someone else, even if that act is completely anonymous and the recipient of your generosity will never know that you were the benefactor. See how it makes you feel deep down inside. And if ever anything ever came close to the true spirit of the “Christ-Mass” then surely true self-love is it.

Fashion: The New Years Eve Dress

Gold Sequin Dress - Motel Rocks via Ark
    Clutch Bag - Primark
    Black Heels - New Look
I feel like I've been a bit of a 'rubbish' fashion blogger lately. I've spent the past 3 weeks of my life writing my dissertation and living in the university library, before that I was designing and completing a magazine in a group project and during that time I've had laryngitis, tonsillitis and a few other infections. So it's been a little bit of a hectic time for me work wise and health wise right now!
Dress - Motel Rocks via Ark
    Clutch Bag - Primark
    Heels - New Look
I'm back at home for christmas now, still writing my dissertation and being super busy but at least I have a little bit more time to take some blog photos every now and then! This dress I'm wearing in this post was actually a secret santa gift from Ark's Christmas Blogger Event. I absolutely love this dress from Motel Rocks via Ark and it's a perfect New Years Eve dress. I've teamed it with a simple pair of black heels and a black clutch for a simple but classy look with nude lipstick and gold eye make-up.
A few weeks ago I went to the Ark Christmas Blogger Event #YuleBelieve and here's some of the photos from the event!

The event was so much fun and it was so nice for an event to be in Manchester and to catch up with some of my favourite blogging girlies!

Beauty: Top 5 Beauty Products of 2015

First of all HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE! Can you believe it's christmas eve already?! I'm beginning to put together some of my yearly round up posts for my last posts this year and first up we have my top 5 beauty products...
As you can probably tell from my posts this past year i've become really interested in beauty blogging. Fashion blogging has always been my first love but I think it's only right to stick to what I'm interested in, what I'm loving at the time rather then fashion post after fashion post. Don't worry though there will still be fashion posts! There will just be more varied content from now on.
Seems as it's the end of the year in just over a week it just seemed right to do a round up of some of my favourite beauty products which have stolen my heart and damaged my bank balance this year (although some purchases didn't really damage my bank balance!) which I thought you'd all love to see...

    1. TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter - Feel Unique
You may have noticed that the make-up brand 'TheBalm' is being talked about so much on beauty blogs lately and after years (or what feels like years) of reading about this highlighter from them I have it in my life and since i've had it i've worn it every day since. I think what's great about this highlighter is that it suits all skin tones. £17.50 is a hefty price tag but it's definitely worth the hype.

    2. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in Natural 05* - available at Feel Unique
Bare Minerals is a brand I've never really tried before and boy have I fallen in love. My skin has been so dehydrated lately due to the ever changing weather conditions and this product has completely changed my skin. This product from Bare Minerals is a tinted hydrating gel cream and it works so well on my skin. What I love about it the most is that it not only moisturises my skin but it gives good coverage too. On days where I need more coverage I'll add my foundation on top of complexion rescue.

    3. Soap and Glory Solar Powder - Boots
I had pretty much convinced myself that I was a Benefit Hoola Bronzer fan through and through and just over a year ago I discovered solar powder. First of all it's a Soap and Glory product (so they never disappoint) and the product is half the price compared to my previous bronzer. What I love about this bronzer is that you can layer it up loads and loads but you can also wear it for a light coverage too.

    4. NYX Tinted Brow Mascara - Feel Unique
Being a dark brown haired girl I pretty much never leaved the house without my eyebrows sorted. I was such a fan of the Essence eyebrow gel but I can never find it in a Wilkinsons in stock. I've tried the Maybelline brow gel but it left my brows feeling crispy which didn't feel good at all. Since loosing my essence brow gel I've picked up the NYX tinted brow mascara from Feel Unique and it's absolutely AMAZING. I don't even know what I've done without it. It gives my brows more definition and sorts them out but also sets them as it's a brow mascara.

    5. The Balm Nude Tude Palette - Feel Unique
It was so so hard to decide on my favourite palette for the year but aside from my Urban Decay Naked Palettes, I've absolutely loved TheBalm Nude Tude Palette which I received in a Cohorted Beauty Box (you can check out the post here) and it's been in my daily make-up routine ever since. I loved the pigmentation of the colours in this palette and the colour palette of this palette is completely up my street. My favourite colours are 'Sultry' 'Stand-Offish' and 'Selfish'.
What are your favourite beauty products of 2015? Have you tried any of these products?
There won't be a new post for a couple of days because I'll be enjoying christmas/still writing my dissertation but I'll be back with a sales post!

I can't believe how fast this years gone. It's the 26th December (Boxing Day) today and it feels like last years Boxing Day was like yesterday... I am so excited to be putting this post together because it's like shopping without spending the money... win!
You may remember my post a couple of days ago about my Top 5 Beauty Products of 2015. I was so surprised when I was looking at all the gorgeous bargains on Feel Unique that they not only had the TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer but also the TheBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette which made it onto the favourites of 2015 list. I tried to stick the list to affordable make-up bits but I managed to forget the Urban Decay All Night Setting Spray which I absolutely love. I really like spraying it onto my face after finishing my make-up application but also using this to dampen my Real Techniques complexion sponge before I use it to blend in my concealer and foundation.
As you can see there is a lot of Urban Decay products on this wishlist. I already have the setting spray but the other products are currently on my wishlist! I'm a big fan of Urban Decay and you can check out my post dedicated to my love for the brand here and my post on the Gwen Stefani palette (which is absolutely amazing by the way) here.
All these items on my Feel Unique wishlist are under £40 too which is super affordable considering the most expensive product is the Urban Decay Vice4 Eyeshadow Palette!
What's your favourite item in this wish list? What are you lusting for in the beauty sales right now?

Beauty: The Make-up Product I Can No Longer Live Without

Urban Decay Setting Spray - Feel Unique (sold out by available here)
I didn't think it was possible to literally be THIS obsessed with a product. I have wanted to try out the Urban Decay Setting Spray for so long after reading so many good reviews online but my initial thoughts were can a spray really help make your make-up stay in place all day?!

Urban Decay Setting Spray - Feel Unique (sold out by available here)

The answer is YES. I massive big YES. At the moment I'm literally spending my life in the library researching and writing my dissertation and believe you me it's literally the most time consuming thing and it sure does exhaust you of any ounce of energy you have...

Urban Decay Setting Spray - Feel Unique (sold out by available here)

I walk up and down hills everyday to get to university and that means going out in the rain, snow, wind etc and living in a hill filled area it definitely affects your make-up as the day goes on. As soon as I leave university (or get half way through the day) I just feel like I want to take my make-up off as it feels like it's falling off my face. I find that powders have helped for a couple of hours to set my make-up but don't work for me after that.

Since having the Urban Decay Setting Spray I think that my make-up routine has been changed completely! I find that I forget now my make-up is on as it feels so weightless and as if I don't have any make-up on at all. At £22 for the full size it's a lot of money to spend on a setting spray but I'd 100% recommend trying out the travel size version which you can purchase here and here.

Have you tried out the Urban Decay Setting Spray? Do you like Make-up Setting Sprays?

Beauty: Top 5 Drugstore Eyeshadow Palettes

    Top 5 Drugstore Eyeshadow Palettes
If there's one thing I love it's an eyeshadow palette. I find that I have far too many then I actually need but I always find myself trying out new eyeshadow looks so it's totally worth it right?! I've discovered some amazing eyeshadow palettes these past few months or so (around 6 months maybe) and I thought I'd put together my top 5 drugstore eyeshadow palettes for you all and my reviews of them.

Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette 03 Rose Nudes - £11.99 from Boots
Max Factor is a brand I'm growing to love at the moment. I've fallen in love with the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara and it's become my go-to mascara in my everyday make-up routine. This palette is amazing for the price, I've not really seen pigmented eyeshadows like this in a while. I absolutely love the colours in this palette and this is a great palette to carry around if you're doing your make-up on the go.

NYX Love in Paris Shadow Palette - £9.50 from Feel Unique
This palette is absolutely gorgeous. I think I'm yet to find a product by NYX that I do not love. The colours in this palette are stunning and perfect for creating a smokey eye look. My other favourite products from NYX at the moment are the tinted brow mascara and the brow pomade which are well worth buying as they're my go-to eyebrow products right now.

Fleur De Force Eyeshadow Quad in Lunar Rose - £7.99 from Feel Unique

Fleur is someone I've followed for years through blogging. I was never into watching youtube videos but I've always loved her blog. I've met her before and she was really lovely and it's so nice to see a blogger do so well for themselves. This eyeshadow quad is great. I think the pigmentation could be a little better but for the price you can't argue. I love using this palette to create a day time look.

L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Quad in Les Ombres - £7.99 from Boots

This beauty of a palette actually came in a free gift set if you spent £15 on L'Oreal. I was lusting after the true match foundation and powder and so when I picked these up this gorgeous palette came with it. I love the golden shade to highlight my inner corners of my eyes and it makes me look more awake to which is a winner from me!

Bourjois Quad Smoky Stories Eyeshadow - £7.99 from Boots

Bourjois are known for their eyeshadows, lipsticks and foundations and I've never actually tried an eyeshadow from them until recently. I've been a big fan of the concealers and lipsticks but this palette is absolutely stunning. I think it's great for doing your eye make up on the go and you just need to use those 4 essential colours to create an eye look.

Overall if I had to pick out of the 5 which one I HAD to pick up I'd chosen the Max Factor rose nudes palette as each colour is absolutely stunning and the eye looks I've created using this palette I've been so happy with. I think it's a great palette for £11.99 and i'm tempted to pick it up in the other 2 colours available too!

What do you think of these eyeshadow palettes? If you had to pick one to use which would you pick?
