It feels like ages since I last posted my weekly high-street picks. I've been loving so much on the high-street lately and my current fashion obsession is coats! I just can't seem to get enough of them. I've been loving so many of the coats available on Pretty Little Thing at the moment. Another thing I've been loving at the moment is high-waisted jeans. I think they go with so many outfits. I love wearing them with trainers, ankle boots and just an over sized jumper with a statement coat.
I think checkered shirts are coming back in fashion and this one from Topshop is amazing. I love the colours on it and I think they'd look amazing with the blue suedette boots from Pretty Little Thing!

  • Reasons to Spring Clean

Spring cleaning is one of those things I absolutely dread. It’s boring and a chore that I’d rather just keep at the bottom of my overflowing to-do list.BUT with the new year came a fresh start and I felt like there was no time like the present to give my house a good ol’ fashioned spring clean. Armed with a few tips from readings blogs online and a few days of the dreaded “it’s getting worse before it gets better” I managed to spruce up my bedroom and my house.

    - Get rid of unwanted bits and bobs and give back. Give you’re unwanted and unused belongings to charity or friends. You might not need or want some of your belongings but someone in need might! When sorting out my wardrobe I always try to put together at least one big bag of clothes to give to my local charities. It just makes me feel good that Im cleaning out my clutter as well as

    - You can invite people round without having to say “It’s not normally this messy!”. I swear every time a friend comes over they either comment on my clutter or on the fact my room is exceptionally tidy.

    - It helps switching up your surroundings. Getting a little bit creative is good for the mind! Pop up a few new posters or add a few house plants on shelves. Moving your belongings around a little can really change thing up. Moving your sofa or your bed positioning . I always feel moving things around is a great way to feel like you’ve redecorated without actually buying anything new!

    - Cleaning is therapeutic. I always think having a clear out is a great way to reduce stress and clear your mind. Theres something about a clutter free organised space that makes me feel more productive, where as disorganisation can make me feel unproductive

    - You have that smug sense of achievement when you’ve finished. Especially when it's a big cleaning or sorting out project. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing all your belongings all neat, tidy and organised. I honestly feel so much joy when I open my wardrobe and it’s not all bundled in the bottom in a lump but everything is hung up nicely and in an somewhat organised fashion. It also makes dressing 10000 times easier.

I always thought the notion of a spring clean was a bit lame but now I see it as a must. Even just a little bit of sorting out has cleared my mind and the space around me. Which in turn has really helped me become more productive and happier in my working and day to day enviroment. Revitalising my mind and making me motivated to start a fresh. I'd totally recommend it!

  • Fashion: Best Dressed at The Brit Awards 2015

(photo credits Getty, Wenn via The Mirror)

If you're like me and you're dying to know what all your favourite celebrities wore to the latest award ceremony you'll love posts like this. Every year I love seeing what people where to The Brits as it's the biggest music award ceremony in the UK. The performances are always extremely interesting. I can't say I'm a fan of Kanye West's performance but anyone else remember the performance by the Scissor Sisters back in the day?! (You can check it out on Youtube here)

Having a quick look online at what everyone's been wearing on the red carpet tonight these are my favourites! I'm normally not overly keen on Ellie Goulding's outfit choices but tonight she looks amazing! It may look like a wedding dress but it's a pretty gorgeous looking one at that!

Paloma Faith looks absolutely gorgeous in a red evening dress and I'm so happy she's finally won a Brit Award! Does Fearne Cotton ever look bad?! She looks so elegant in her embellished dress. If I was Cara Delevingne I'd be sleeping right now from London Fashion Week! I like how she's gone for a laid back but casual look. I also really liked what Rochelle Humes is wearing, you can never go wrong with a black jumpsuit!

What do you think of this year's Brit Awards? Which outfit was your favourite?

  • Eye-Phone Cover

PHONE CASE FROM SOCIETY 6 BY ELLIE CRYER

I’m on a bit of a phone case high at the moment. I’ve never really been into them before as I just saw them as pointless. However a few smashed iPhones later and a brand new phone I thought it was about time I actually pulled my finger out and find one that suited me.

I picked this iPhone eye (geddit) cover up from Society 6 recently when I was actually looking for an art print for a friends birthday. This eye print by Ellie Cryer caught my end and I snooped around and saw that it was a phone case too. I ordered it instantly and within a weeks (it ships from the USA) it was mine.

I like it because its stylish and simple without being OTT or crazy. The bold print is fun and unique and really impressive. The case itself is of impeccable quality, I can’t get over how nicely it’s printed and how weighty and protetive it feels!

  • Leather, Red & Fluff

If you watched my recent New Look Haul then you'd know that I went ahead and bought myself a red coat after I'd been caught red handed stealing my housemate Dal's one (in this post). It wasn't a hard decision to make as I knew I wanted one in my wardrobe I just couldn't find the one. This collarless one was perfect and it was reduced so what was not to love about it all!

Red and black is my favourite colour combination at the moment. It feels like my go-to whenever I need something simple and chic and just works with minimal fuss. I paired my new leather skirt with a fluffy jumper from ASOS which I've had for a ridiculously long time but not actually worn because I thought it made me look like a Gorilla!

  • Beauty: Look Fantastic March Beauty Box

Look Fantastic Beauty Box - Look Fantastic*

You may have caught February's beauty box here which I absolutely loved. On Friday this wonderful box turned up in the post and I was so excited when I opened it. There was a few products I've wanted to try for ages inside!

    Wet Brush

Okay so you've all heard of the Tangle Teezer, this is the new updated and better brush to use. I've heard Anna and Lily (you must know who they are) rave about this brush for months and I'm so excited to finally have my hands on one. It's such a nice brush and it's so easy to brush tangled hair with!

    Caudalie Anti Wrinkle Defence Serum

I've heard lots about the brand Caudalie and I'm really excited to try this. I know what you're all thinking you're young why are you using anti wrinkle serum? It's something every woman is paranoid about and I think i'll give this a whirl soon as I feel just under my eyes is getting wrinkly!

Lord and Berry Kohl Liner in Black

I'm becoming more and more obsessed with eye make up and experimenting with my eye make up at the moment. I've read loads of good things about Lord and Berry liner and so I can't wait to give this a try!

Bliss Fat Girl Slim Firming Cream

I recently picked up the Re-Gen cream and it's an absolute miracle worker so I can't wait to try this cream. I've never heard of the brand bliss before but after googling the brand and reading reviews about this product this seems like it's 100% worth the price. (I'll report back on this!)

    Cowshed Lip Balm

I'm a really big fan of Cowshed products and use their hand cream all the time. This is a great brand and their products always smell amazing! I love products this size to cause they don't take up too much space in your make up bag.

Nudestix Magnetic Eye Colour in Gilt

I've heard so much from Nudestix. I think they're the brand to watch this year when it comes to beauty. It's a durable eyeshadow colour which also highlights. Who doesn't love a two in one product?! This product on it's own is worth £24 so it's well worth buying the beauty box for only £15!

  • Gift from the Shoe Gods

Yeahhhhh. I know, another week another pair of shoes that Im raving about. I seem to have become a bit of a shoe lover in the last few years and I feel like I have a never ending rotation of new shoes gracing my feet. These ones however are special. I've had my eyes on them for months and months. Gold mid heel shoes with a super cute pointy toe and an ankle strap. It was like all my shoe related dreams came true at one.

I tweeted about them endlessly a few months ago but never quite caving in and deciding on a firm YES PLEASE. However I was picking up a few bits from Topshop last week for The Brits (which I did vlog but then somehow broke my camera! and decided to justify them as my Brits shoes.

  • How to Deal With a Bad Hair Day

Oh god. We’ve all been there. Woken up with an untameable mane that no matter what you do it won’t look right. The fight against bad hair days in a real struggle for us humans and one I think we can all come together in solidarity with a “I FEEL YOU!”.

Today I thought I’d chat a few different different hair related hacks for dealing with bad hair days.

    HIDE UNDER A HAT

Oldest trick in the book. Cover that unmanageable mess with a good ol’ hat. My go to is a chic fedora but a beanie is just as good in these types of situations. Keep a few different styles in your wardrobe is the quickest and easiest way to hide grubby looking locks. Fedora’s are ALWAYS my hat of choice!

    PICK YOUR PRODUCTS

I find a lot of my bad hair days stem from not using the right products on my hair. While Dry Shampoo seems like a good idea at the time overloading the hair with it can make it look dull and lifeless and give that horrid grey cast. Often find my hair looks bad if I don’t use a good moisturising conditioner or prep my hair properly before styling. So always be smart about what products you are going to be using as well as savvy with the amount you use. It really can make the difference between a good and a bad hair day! Sometimes the only thing you can do is to wash your hair and start a fresh. It's so much effort but it really does make a difference if you cant rescue it! Dont fight battles you'll never win!

    HAIRSTYLES

Keeping a few go-to in your hair styling routine is a must. Milk maid braids or the iconic fashion blogger topknot can be life savers on days where your hair just won’t play ball. I personally love the top knot, it's a failsafe and easy way of hiding bad hair days! Here's a little tutorial I did on how to do a messy Bun if you're looking for some inspo!

  • Lifestyle: A City Break to Dublin

Some of you may have seen that about two weeks ago I went on a city break to Dublin with my boyfriend. Dublin is a place I've always wanted to visit as I've heard its a city of character. I love exploring new places and as a new challenge in 2015 me and my boyfriend have set ourselves a list of things we want to do in 2015 and visiting Dublin was one of them!
After we had a 5am start and caught a plane at 7.50am (so early) when we got to Dublin we headed to the nearest bar/restaurant we saw which served breakfast. I think this was called Riverside Bar and it didn't disappoint anywhere which does poached eggs is a good place to me!

We then checked in at our hotel which was called Clontarf Castle which was absolutely lovely. We stayed for 2 nights and had breakfast each morning which was so yummy! There was a great selection of cooked food, croissants, scones, fruit and cereals and it was all just so nice. The hotel was a castle and was amazing just look how great it looks at night?!
The hotel looked so nice walking up to it at night after a long day in Dublin. We used a bus pass to get around the city and our hotel was a little further out so no noise from the city centre!

We spent our first day wandering around the city, we went to Stephen's green and to a local shopping centre. I took a photo of the ceiling in the shopping centre as it looked so nice!

We visited St Patricks Cathedral too which was so pretty. Ben took this photo of me which I loved! As you can see it was cold there so had to wrap up warm!

We then went to the Guinness Storehouse the next day which I'd highly recommend. It was amazing! I've never tried Guinness before and neither had Ben and we both ended up liking it! We did a tour of The Storehouse, poured our own pints and then enjoyed them on the top floor of the storehouse which was a really nice bar with an amazing view. We ended up spending most of the day there it was just so nice.
We ate at some really nice places while we were there. My favourite was when we went to Crackbird. It was a bit like Nando's but with a mexican twist. On Valentines day we went to Bewley's cafe which was so nice. I'd highly recommend the fudge cake and the hot chocolate it was so yummy!

I just thought I'd share some of my photos from the few days away we had and we actually spent valentines day in Dublin which was so lovely too. I would highly recommend visiting Dublin, especially with your other half. There's so many great places to eat and pubs to visit and places to see!

Have you visited Dublin? Any of places you'd recommend for a city break?

  • Lush Mothers Day Collection

    LUSH Valentines Day Collection*

Oohhh Look, Another Lush Collection coming in hard and fast. This time it’s the LE Mothers Day Collection. I’ll say right off the bat this collection doesn’t excite me all that much. I guess it’s not aimed at me but last year’s Lush Mothers Day offerings were a struggle to pass on! Typically their LE stuff gets me super excited but this is just a little off for me.

First up I have the Love Your Mum Soap, which is a floral shaped soap with mimosa, jasmine and bergamot notes. I think it smells really floral and “musty” and the shape looks a bit odd, like very cheapy looking. The Yummy Mummy Body Conditioner and Yummy Mummy Shower Gel are really unique smelling. Sweet but floral at the same time. It’s actually quite a strange mixture of scents I think as it’s nice but… different? It’s a blend of strawberry juice and murumuru (whatever that is) and it has a odd heady floral scent. The formula of the Body Conditioner is amazing, like super nourishing on my dry elbows and knees!

Rose Bombshell is... obviously a rose scented bath bomb. Packed with body softening soya milk powder and orange flower notes it creates a dreamy rose sent around the body. Very Luxe. Another bath-y product is the Mother Superior Bubbleroon which I thought looked like Snorlax in photos but mine looks a bit squished! This has a delicate floral scent, think cherry blossoms in spring! I can’t wait to crumble this into a bath!

I know this is the kind of collection that my Mum personally wouldn’t like all that much, But I can see why they've gone down the Spring-y Floral route. It all feels very safe… and I guess mummy. None the less I do think Lush is a fun and safe option to give to your Ma on Mothers day. If it’s this specific Mothers Day Collection it’s a great alternative to Flowers!

I've really loved dressing for this winter. Seems as it's still cold this is an outfit I love wearing at the moment. It seems to be so cold in the North! Faux Fur Gilets have been a huge favourite of mine over the past few months and you can check out previous posts on me wearing faux fur gilets here, here and here. • This Weeks High-Street Picks #30

As i've probably said many times before these are my favourite posts to create! Being a fashion student it's extremely hard not to spend all your money on clothes. So posts like this are a great to window shop but not actually buy anything. These are the items I wish I could add to my wardrobe this season...
    Camel Sleeveless Coat - Missguided
Vertical Stripe Top - New Look
Nothing To Wear Tee - New Look
Mom Stone Wash Jeans - Missguided
    Ripped Joni Jeans - Topshop
    Collar Necklace - Topshop
Stripe Halterneck Jumpsuit - Pretty Little Thing
Camel Coats seem to be everywhere this season and this sleeveless number from Missguided is a great way to update your wardrobe for spring. I think with a black long sleeved top, pair of jeans and fedora hat this coat would look perfect. New Look have really upped their game when it's come to clothing lately. I'm loving the vertical striped top, I think it would great with cream jeans and black boots on a sunny day. (When we ever have them in the UK!)
I've got a feeling that for spring/summer mom jeans are going to make a comeback. You don't have to splash out on a £40 pair either! This pair from Missguided are a total bargain at £25! Halterneck Jumpsuits are everywhere at the moment and I love Pretty Little Thing's spin on the trend. This jumpsuit is in the style of Kylie Jenner as well. All the more reason to buy it right?!

  • Off The Shoulder

Zara Off Shoulder Top & Zara Cross Body

Gosh my fringe is in dire need of a good ol' trim! I am currently thinking of growing it out and having a flipped over side part a la Kylie Jenner but Im not 100% sure yet! Forever playing around with my hair. I often wonder if I'll be satisfied with it!

This is one of my favourite outfits I've posted for goodness knows how long! If youre a long time follower then you'll know that Im not that into Zara. I really rarely wear stuff from one of the most popular ~blogger~ shopping location! I do like it but its just a weird place and I dont really enjoy shopping their. I picked up a few bits online thought including this cross body, off the shoulder top and this rose gold bag that I blogged about last week.

The off the shoulder top is super cute and so flattering on. It skims all the areas I like skimmed and covers my arms which all of a sudden I've become paranoid about. I paired it with a simple leather jacket, pointed shoes and a good pair of pointed flats. It's a simple but chic look that I often wear at the moment! Im still living in jeans despite the weather slowly warming up as time goes on. I honestly cant wait to ditch the tights and the long trousers and go for midi skirts and pretty girly dresses! Bring on the summer.

  • Lifestyle: My Tips for Dealing with Anxiety

It's taken me a while to actually post something like this on my blog. I know it's something I shouldn't be shy about talking about but it's a very personal thing. Close friends and family of mine may know that for the past couple of years I've suffered with anxiety. It's not something I like to talk about but it got so bad at one point I was too scared to leave the house at all. I feel like it's something so many of you must suffer with too and I want to let you all know it's okay to have help but it's time to be okay about dealing with it!
First when a doctor told me I had anxiety I had no idea what it was. I was given brochures and sheets about it and spent ages reading about it. The more I read about it the more I realised It affected me. It explained why I felt on edge all the time and why I worried about absolutely everything. I've been seeing a therapist for a while now and I thought it's time I shared my tips about how I cope with it with you all. If this post helps one person then my job is done!
    1. Use techniques to calm yourself
I use techniques my therapist has taught me which help me so much but I know everyone will deal with this differently. I find deep breathing, listening to calming music really helps. I use an app on my phone called 'relax melodies' and when I feel really anxious I put in my earphones and listen to the sounds of the sea. Imagining a place which makes you happy also really helps. I like thinking about happy holidays, moments which have been special to me to help calm myself.
    2. Have some chill out time and comfort yourself
One thing I can't live without is peppermint tea. My favourite is PG Tips Peppermint Infusions and I go through about 2 boxes of these each week. I find that whenever I feel stressed, anxious and in a state of panic peppermint tea really helps. I also relax by watching friends, having one of my favourite biscuits while I'm having my peppermint tea. I find that doing things you really enjoy helps you relax and comforting yourself will help you get in a relaxed mindset.

    3. Ask yourself what's the worst that can happen?
There's been a few situations lately when something goes wrong I panic and begin to think that everything else goes wrong and it's all linked together. My boyfriends really good about this as he always says to me 'what's the worst that can happen?' I didn't really believe him at first but now I think he's right. Little things seem so much bigger at the time as you panic about them. They're actually really small things a lot of the time that you'll forget about the next day/next week or month.
    4. Get some fresh air
A little while ago while I was travelling in New Zealand my Auntie also told me that fresh air is really good for when you feel like you are panicking and don't know what to do. Ever since then I've always valued just going outside even if it's for 5 minutes. It really does help, sometimes if you just stick your head out the window for a couple of minutes. Fresh air really does help clear your head.

    5. Do some exercise!
My mum always says to me to get some exercise. I've recently started doing Volleyball at university and I feel like that's really helped boost my mood. I'd recommend joining your local gym, go running with a friend, doing a class such as zumba. If you're still in education there's lots clubs and societies you can join.
I hope you've liked this post and if you also suffer from anxiety that some of these tips may help you!

  • Must-Have Items For Spring Race Day Fashion

This week's Cheltenham Festival signalled the first of many prestigious horse races that will take place in England over the coming months, with the next one up being the Grand National. And while the Cheltenham event is widely regarded as offering a spectacular experience for fans, those who attend or regard these races with an eye toward fashion interests may prefer the Grand National as a more traditional experience.

This is because despite the fun and festivity of Cheltenham, the weather in western England in early March can still be rather difficult when it comes to managing traditional race day attire. The Grand National, meanwhile, takes place in early April, and the extra month often allows for warmer (though not quite toasty) weather conditions and, as a result, the chance to engage in the fun and frivolous styles associated with horse racing fashion!

Now, horse racing fashion is actually a pretty broad category. One can have entire discussions on footwear, outfitting, accessories, etc. that would go well with the common looks one sees at the tracks of prestigious races. But within this broader conversation, there are a few absolute must-have items when it comes to race day fashion. So if the Grand National is something you've marked on your calendar—either to attend, or simply to keep an eye on for style interests—here are the items that will highlight the event.

    Fancy Hats

There's no sense starting with anything else. A day at the races is all about the hat you find to complement your outfit! And basically, there are no limits or restrictions as to how creative you should get with your hat selection. ITV News has a recap from the 2012 Grand National Ladies Day that shows a nice range of ladies' race day hats, some of which may provide inspiration for your selection. Just make sure to have something picked out, because race day hats are the most important elements of equestrian fashion. In a series of previews for the Grand National races, Betfair's look ahead at some of trainer Willie Mullins' horses even shows off the trainer's participation in this common trend! It's not a festooned, wide-brimmed extravaganza like many ladies' hats, but it's nevertheless a fashion statement even by a man competing in the races that you can view here.

    Stylish Boots

This selection may surprise you, if you're in the camp that believes high heels represent the gold standard of horse race fashion footwear. In some cases, you'd be exactly right. Specifically at the warm and sunny Triple Crown races in the U.S., heels are popular choices. But at the Grand National, you may find you're ultimately more comfortable in something sturdier and more rugged, both because the temperature can be mild and because terrain around the tracks is less than ideal for heels. In fact, the Daily Mail even did a full write-up a year ago focusing on ladies struggling to stay comfortable at the event due to heels! For a stylish alternative, we'd refer you right back to our recent peek at paisley leggings and knee-high boots!

    Trendy Jewellery

Jewellery and accessories can be somewhat unpredictable at any major horse race, including the Grand National, simply because people like to use accessories to show some individuality. In fact, this is arguably even truer at the Grand National than at most races, because this occasion lends itself to flashier, more inventive styles. For this reason, rather than pointing to prevailing items or ideas from years past, we'd argue the best way to pick jewellery or accessories for the 2015 races is simply to keep an eye on the current trends for inspiration. Vogue has a nice start for anyone interested in spring jewellery collections, including ring stacks, mismatched earrings, and a number of other subtle but interesting touches ideally suited for Ladies Day fashion at the tracks.

When this coat arrived in my post box today I knew I fell in love. The 'Kim Kardashian' look is everywhere you look at the moment. When Pretty Little Thing had this coat in stock being 'in the style of Kim Kardashian' I knew I had to have it as it looks absolutely gorgeous! They have this coat stocked in 10 other colours here.

With being at university all the time at the moment I'm constantly walking in all sorts of weather. I feel like it's getting a bit warmer but then it'll start pouring it down with rain so it's hard to dress for the weather at the moment. But this sort of outfit fits the bill. I was sent these gorgeous jeans from ASOS to promote their new denim ranges and these boyfriend jeans are absolutely beautiful. I love the baggy look and feel to them and the rips don't make your knee's cold! (winner!)

  • Beauty: The Dreamy Nude Lipstick Under £10

Topshop Lipstick in Mink - Topshop
I've become more and more of a fan of lipsticks lately. I recently posted about my top 5 MAC lipsticks here and my favourite winter red lipstick here. With nude lips being a massive trend right now, so many of you are going for the Kylie Jenner look and buying MAC's velvet teddy lipstick. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative but still the same quality then Topshop Lipstick in Mink is your lippy!

Topshop Lipstick in Mink - Topshop
Okay so it's darker then velvet teddy but it's an absolutely gorgeous colour! I think this is a great nude for people with olive toned/dark toned skin. I've been wearing this lipstick literally every single day since I bought it and it's lasted so well on my lips (even when eating apples and drinking tea!)

Topshop Lipstick in Mink - Topshop
At £8 (£7.20 if you use student discount) this lipstick is quite a bargain! I love how long Topshop lipsticks last on the lips and how moisturising they are. I'm tempted to go and pick up another one of this lipstick just in case Topshop discontinue it!

  • 25 ways to feel happier right this second

Sometimes I’ve been in the most rotten of moods and doing a simple thing that I know triggers that happy section of my brain off can snap me right out of it. I do think happiness is a choice and it's something you, yourself can help get rolling.

Here are a list of 25 things that make me feel a little happier and in the hope that at least one of them will make you smile.

    1. Choose to be happy. Like I said being happy is a positive choice you can make to improve your own life. Shake yourself out of a rut by thinking positive thoughts and working towards your own goals rather than dwelling on other things that might bring you down.

    2. Buy some new shoes. Because new shoes equals instant happiness. Am I right?

    3. Go to your local coffee shop and do some people watching. I don’t know what it is about looking at others but it’s quite cathartic. It's nice to just sit and observe the world around you sometimes as it puts everything into perspective. It's simple but fun. Plus, a skinny sugar free iced vanilla latte gives me instant satisfaction.

    4. Learn something new. I ended up learning to play the Ukulele and Im currently sort of learning the guitar. While Im not getting very far with the latter, I learnt a new skill in the Uke as well something to keep my mind off all the things that were upsetting me.

    5. Wear a bold lipstick. Sometimes when I feeling a bit blah about myself I make the effort to slick on my favourite red lipstick (Hourglass Riviera, Always!) and it instantly boosts my confidence and my mood!

    6. Check out the Cute Emergency Twitter feed for a instant boost of happiness. Nothing makes me happier than photos of puppues.

    7. Go for a drive. Blast the music as loud as you can and be THAT person in the car singing your heart out. Chances are you’re never going to see that person next to you in traffic ever again. So just do it. Release your inner Beyonce!

    8. Take a warm bath stuffed with your favourite bath products. Sometimes I like to overload on the Lush stuff and end up coming out of the bathroom smelling like some teenage boy who’s sprayed way too much Lynx.

    9. Buy some pretty flowers all for yourself and do some Pintrest-worthy flower arranging….Or just plonk them in a vase and hope they look good. The latter being my approach to it.

    10. Bake some cupcakes. Or again if you’re not that kinda person go to a local bakery and pick up some sweet treats to gorge yourself on. Calories don’t count when you’re sad, Kinda.

    11. Mediation might seem all new age mumbo jumbo but that little bit of time out will help you clear your mind and refocus your energy.

    12. Paint your nails. Or pay someone do do it for you. Feel that little bit sassier with a fresh coat of polish and file job!

    13. Get a good nights sleep. One of the most important things is to get a good solid sleep. It’ll help you calm down and de-stress and hopefully get your thoughts in order. Sleep deprivation can take an incredible toll on your mental health so it’s so important to try and get enough of it.

    14. Be grateful for your what you have. Count your blessing and be thankful you have things like a phone in your hand or money in your pocket. Some people are much worse off than you'll ever be.

    15. Put your phone down. Stop dwelling and worrying about other peoples lives and switch the darn thing off. Don’t waste your life refreshing your Instagram feed or stalking that boy you like on Twitter. It’s destructive and just not worth your time.

    16. Reach out to an old friend. Some of my favourite memories are with people who I don’t keep in touch with as much as I should. Message someone out of the blue to talk about that time my fly was down at uni or when you won that Pac Man Ghost out the Claw machine after putting in about £30! Just talk to someone who makes you feel good!

    17. Visit somewhere new and exciting. It might seem daunting to go off on your own but going out and seeking new and exciting adventures is fun! Theres nothing wrong with going away on your own for a day or two!

    18. Clean. I know it’s basic but it’ll keep your mind off whatever might be upsetting you and plus you get a nice refreshed space to live in. Your hard work will pay off so you don’t have to feel embarrassed when you invite a friend round for a glass of wine! (cheeky bonus happiness point there too!)

    19. Go all teen angst and write down it down in a diary. Sometimes putting pen to paper and getting all those feels out makes things seem a lot easier to deal with.

    20. Check out an exhibition you’ve been putting off for weeks. Checking some pretty artwork or cool new installation will get your creative juices flowing.

    21. Go for that run you’ve been putting off since New Year. Getting your blood pumping around your body and those endorphins going will boost your mood considerably. It’s a fact.

    22. Listen to some music. Music has this funny thing about it that can make us feel all different types of feels. Listen to your happy song and have a dance around your living room. I think my cat must think Im crazy when I do this!

    23. Explore your local area. Put on some suitable shoes and go for a wander around your local area. Find a secret quiet place only you know about and spend some time quietly reflecting on life.

    24. Organise some stuff. It could be your wardrobe (Hello Pinterest, dream wardrobe) or your makeup stash or even your knives and forks. That smug feeling of completing and organisation task is one of the best in the world. You go Glen Coco.

    25. Read a book. Download something new onto your Kindle app if you’re not one for the paperback things. Plus you can pick something motivating and uplifting with the click of a button.

  • Best Drugstore Foundation Ever

I dont think I've ever sung the praises of a drugstore foundation as much as Im currently doing with the L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation. It's a full coverage matte foundation that gives an awesome luminous but high coverage natural finish. It doesn't look cakey or dry and just sits so nicely on the skin. Im the shade Vanilla which is a pretty exact match for my skintone and I adore it. While I would never wear a foundation for 24 hours so I cant comment on that side of it, but this is a super long lasting foundation even without a primer. BIG LOVE.

  • Summer Launches for YSL

YSL Touche Eclat Rock Lace Edition* & YSL Couture Palette Rock Resille Edition*

Oh Hello new YSL Bits! It's (almost) summertime and time for another LE YSL collection. This time Polka dot and lace packaging for summer. The YSL Touche Eclat Rock Lace Edition and the brand spanking new YSL Couture Palette Rock Resille Edition.

It was love at first sight, the packaging is right up my street and the palette is a proper doozy. I often find the limited edition Couture Palettes tend to have a good few shades and the rest are a bit bold. As a fan of peachy pinks and corals on my eyes this was always going to be a bit of a hit. Each shade is something that I would use without and duds. Classic but edgy and a mixture of warm and cool tones of 5 shades to create a variety of eye looks. Super fine, soft and blendable whats not to love!

The YSL Touche Eclat Rock Lace Edition is is a repackage of a beauty classic that if you haven't tried yet then I'd totally recommend giving it a go. I used to not be wowed by YSL Touch Eclat but it ha grown on me. Light reflecting and aluminising it's a standard in most girls beauty bags. The packaging is super cute too, I really like the simplicity and boldness of the print. It's gorgeous!

  • Fashion: Air and Grace Leopard Print Boots

One thing I've always loved buying is a pair of shoes. Being 1 of 4 girls in my house my clothes end up in everyone else's wardrobe but mine, but with shoes I'm the only one with big feet (YES!) so nobody steals them. I always think with shoes it's worth paying that little bit more for a pair that you'll really love.
I wanted to share with you all a new shoe love in my life. My new air and grace boots, I chose the jak and jill pair* as they're absolutely stunning. My mum wasn't much of a fan of them but everyone else seems to love them and they're definitely a conversation starter.

I'm a massive fan of cut-out boots as they look so good all year round. I can't wait to wear these boots in the summer when it gets warmer. These boots are the most amazing quality, I have never had a pair of shoes made so well. I have a feeling they'll be a firm favourite in my wardrobe for years and years to come! They have a leather and pony hair finish and air and grace have also made the boots with a foamy cushion so they are super comfortable to walk in.

I feel like these boots are a great edition to my wardrobe and they're so wearable all year round. You'll be definitely seeing these babies in lots of outfit posts in the coming days/weeks/months as I've not really taken these boots off yet!

  • Nivea Micellar Water

This post is SPONSORED by Nivea

Micellar Water has been a thing for a while but it seems to be having it’s moment on the highstreet right now. Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water is a super gentle micellar water which is an essential for every busy modern girls beauty bag. It’s ultimate time saving essential!

Nivea’s offering is much more affordable price point and designed specifically for sensitive skin. It’s speedy, refreshing and incredible so effective as part of a makeup removal cleansing routine. It leaves the skin completely free of makeup absolutely minimal effort.

All I do is soak a couple of cotton pads in the magical watery solution and wipe all over my face to remove any trace of makeup. Due to it’s gentle formula it’s also perfect for eyes! A little trick for the eye area is to run a cotton bud coated in the water under the eyes to make sure every scrap of makeup is removed.

Micellar water is so kind to the skin and much more skin friendly than using traditional face wipes - as these often dry the skin out and leave it feeling tight. Great for A must in any speedy girl’s beauty routine!

  • Travelling... Again!

So as I mentioned in my Contiki Travel Styles post (and numerous times on Twitter) Im off on another Contiki Adventure. Where this time? IM GOING TO JAPAN!!!!!

Im off on a special 9-day blogger and vloggger’s only trip around Japan to some of some of the country’s most culturally-rich cities. Japan Unrivalled sounds like must-do trip. I’ll be kicking off in Tokyo and heading to Takayama, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Wakayama and Osaka. I’ll be exploring the unique cultures of each city. Well be getting a real taste for Japan with a sushi making class, a visit to the hot springs, a karaoke night and an overnight stay at a traditional Ryokan guest house.

I am so excited about this trip as it’s a total dream come true. Japan is a bucket list place to visit and is just going to be unlike any of the other places I’ve visited before. One of the best parts about the trip is that Im heading over the sea with one of my all time favourite blogger babes Victoria from In The Frow. Seriously guys. Im stoked! It’s going to be a trip that I’ll never ever forget. I’ll be vlogging my experience over on my second channel (although I might upload when Im back rather than daily!) and updating you constantly via Instagram and Twitter so keep your peepers on there for live updates! I’ll be doing full blog posts about each day when Im back too. It’s Cherry Blossom season so expect some amazing pics!

  • Fashionable lounge wear for 2015

Oversized Striped Loungewear Shirt - Topshop

    Chambray Pyjama Shorts - Topshop

Hanging Night Shirt - New Look

    Slipper Boots - New Look

Loungewear Sweater and Joggers - Topshop

Little Mermaid Pyjama Set - Topshop

Check Pyjama Shorts - New Look

Although we’ve all been dazzled by the glamorous and extravagant creations on display at the recent fashion shows, the catwalk always seems to suffer a lack of offerings for lazing around the house! So I’ve compiled a quick report on what looks to be the top fashion trends for those wonderful days where we can be at ease and relax at home in our own loungewear.

    Stylish loungewear

Although many of us may have been tempted by the dubious delights of the onesie, it now seems that we’ve just about seen the back of this item of clothing! The highly reliable Stylist magazine has some excellent pointers in lounging alternatives such as cuddly jumpers, luxurious slippers, and who could resist this deluxe wool and cashmere poncho – perfect for those lazy afternoons in front of the television. And the increasingly influential Not On The High Street retailer is also displaying some great innovations in loungewear. With more ponchos on offer, as well as some luxurious kimonos, it’s all about getting layered up in cool, rich colours and fantastic textures.

    Bedtime

On those long and lazy days, the boundary line between bed and sofa can become increasingly blurry. So it’s always a good idea to make sure that your bedwear can be worn around the house too! ASOS has some great products that range from cute lounge shorts, to a great range of pyjamas that are perfect for roaming around the house. Many celebrities caused a micro-trend last year by wearing thicker pyjama tops outside of the house, but it’s often best to keep your sleeping materials light this can seriously affect how you sleep. While you’re debating your sleeping outfit, it might be a good time to check out Bedstar to make sure your bed is equally fashionable!

    Texture

What is often overlooked in loungewear fashion is the importance of texture. It’s all about staying warm, cosy, and yet not overheating. Good textures and fabrics to aim for would include cashmere, silk, velvet and satin. But whilst silk pyjamas may feel like the height of luxury, they might not be able to withstand the cooler British nights. Cashmere is therefore an excellent option for chic loungewear. Whether it be a luxury cashmere jumper, or even just a throw, the best thing about cashmere is the way that you can layer it to great effect. And when it comes to keeping your feet warm, the slipper is a lifesaver for all of us. Some may opt for the classically understated velvet slipper, whilst others may prefer the stylish sheepskin model. But whatever style you choose, make sure it’s comfortable, warm and you’ll feel so much better from the inside out!

  • Beauty: My Make-up Removal Essentials

I always find posts like this on others peoples blogs really interesting, so I thought I'd share with you all what I use to remove my make up! When I'm feeling lazy I'll use No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes which are really good and taking my make up off with when I just want a quick fix or when I'm feeling a little lazy. Recently in the past few months I've been getting more into using cleansing waters to take my make up off. I tried the L'oreal micellar cleansing water and I wasn't a huge fan of it and then on a boots offer I discovered Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and I feel like it's changed my life!

I use just basic cotton pads (you can pick some up pretty much anywhere) with the micellar water at night to take off my make up. Since welcoming the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette into my life I've got a lot more into eye make up. I picked up the Garnier Express 2 in 1 Make-up Remover and it's made taking my eye make up off so much easier. I find that when I use these garnier products it leaves my skin super soft. After using the cleansing water and express 2 in 1 make-up remover, I use another cotton pad and the Garnier Softening Toner to finish my routine off.
I find my skin has improved since using these Garnier products I'd definitely recommend them as they always seem to be on offer when I pop into Boots or Superdrug!
What do you use to take your make-up off? Do you have any products to recommend?

  • Fashion: 5 Style Lessons Rachel Green Taught Us

Like me, you're probably a little bit addicted to watching Friends. When I have a spare half hour I'll turn on Comedy Central and catch up on whatever Friends episode they're airing. I have seen every episode of Friends a few too many times. I fell in love with Rachel Green's style and despite being a show shot in the 90's her style is very relevant today.

    1. Checkered skirts are always a good idea.
    2.Layering clothes is always trendy.
    3. Oversized clothing is the way forward.
    4. Dungarees are definitely appropriate for adults to wear.
    5. Turtlenecks are a style essential.

Burberry describe this as "customisable colour" which sounds like a pretty cool concept. Available in 28 shades from nude to bright these lipsticks are sure to be a hit. They are really smooth and hydrating and dont cling to the lips at all. Super luxe and high quality is something that I've come to expect from Burberry beauty and this is no exception.

Devon Pink is my favourite of course, It's such a Lily Melrose shade!

Eyelashes by Daxita Vaghela @ Atherton Cox*

Once again I’ve flipped over to the eyelash extension side. I was fickle about going back after it ravaged my lashes but after heading to Daxita Vaghela for a lash extension treatment I’ve not looked back.

Daxita is a lovely person and I felt so so comfortable in her hands. She really knows her stuff and I cannot rave about her services. She really listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. I explained how I wanted natural but full, black lashes. I didn’t want super fake over the top looking ones, just natural fluttery lashes.

The lashes actually lasted me about 4 weeks, although some naturally shed even after those 4 weeks I still had tons of lashes left on. Typically when I’ve had my lashes done in the past I was left with ropey looking spider lashes within two weeks.

Lash extensions are expensive, and the upkeep is going to be hard if you have to keep paying to get them redone or filled in. But honestly I cannot rave about how much more confident they’ve made me feel. I feel like I wear less makeup overall and I don’t even mind how I look makeup free. Something about fluttering long lashes just makes me feel really pretty y’know?

Im 100% getting them done again and I can see this becoming a proper addiction! Oops.
